Greetings!
SUNY Adirondack nursing student Kara Traver (above) celebrates with her family at a reception honoring nursing students following the Nursing Pinning Ceremony held May 10. See more photos from the ceremony here. Congratulations to all our student nurses, and all of our graduates who received degrees and certificates at Commencement. The campus community asked the Foundation to re-institute EXPO - so we did! This end of the year celebration on May 3 raised $18,000 for scholarships ( click here for more details on the event). Our next event is the 24th annual Lyman A. Beeman. Jr. Golf Tournament June 14 at Hiland Golf Club. The Athletics Department inaugurated the SUNY Adirondack Athletic Hall of Fame May 7 by inducting charter member Robert "Bob" Addison, the college's first Athletic Director, into the Hall during a ceremony as part of the college's annual Sports Recognition Night. And as many of you know, the college will have a new president come July. Dr. Kristine Duffy, formerly of Onondaga Community College, was appointed in March to succeed Dr. Ronald C. Heacock. Here's a brief introduction to Dr. Duffy - we'll have a longer interview with her in our August edition. This will be our last edition for a couple of months as we enjoy a little R&R during June and July. The newsletter will return with our next edition in August 2013. Have a great summer!
Sincerely,
Rachael Patten
Executive Director of Development, Alumni Relations,
and the SUNY Adirondack Foundation

Bob Addison inducted into Hall of Fame
SUNY Adirondack's first Athletics Director
Bob Addison, whose career at SUNY Adirondack spanned 29 years, was inducted as a charter member of the SUNY Adirondack Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Tuesday, May 7, as part of the college's Sports Recognition Night.
Bob's family attended the event, and the event marked a historical first: All four of the college's Athletic Directors - Bob Addison, Bob Harris, Darla Belevich and John Quattrocchi - were present for the induction.
Many of his colleagues attended the ceremony to honor him, including former Business Division Chair Sandy Searleman, who was one of Bob's scorekeepers when Coach Addison coached men's basketball.
Coach Addison was clearly moved by the honor, and we thank him for his service and the example he set. Go here to view the event photo gallery.
