The other day I was walking by our sandpit and for some unknown reason my mind flashbacked to a high-school physics class...
All energy can be in one of two states: potential energy or kinetic energy.
Potential energy is stored energy. It is energy ready to be used. Potential energy is within a lawn mower filled with gasoline, or a car on top of a hill waiting to roll down.
Kinetic energy is the energy something has because it is in motion. It's when the lawn mower starts mowing or the car starts rolling down the hill. Another way to look at kinetic energy is that it is the manifestation of potential energy. Here's where it gets interesting...
The split between potential and kinetic energy can be traced back to Aristotle's original thoughts on potentiality versus actuality. According to wikipedia: "The concept of potentiality, in this context, generally refers to any 'possibility' that a thing can be said to have. Actuality, in contrast to potentiality, is the motion, change or activity that represents an exercise or fulfillment of a possibility, when a possibility becomes real in the fullest sense."
In other words, what we're really looking at with these energies is how potential energy is transformed into kinetic "actual" outcome. So when we say that manifesting is the fundamental nature of who we are, this is exactly what we're doing.
Every moment of every day, we are dancing with possibility and actuality. Our thoughts, emotions, and sensations are filled with possibility. They are the potential that each of us human beings has access to. But until we DO something, it never becomes manifested in our 'actual' lives.
Therefore, the question of how to manifest most effectively is not merely about thinking better thoughts of possibilities. That only affects potential. Manifesting is the expression of potential energy as actions in the world that actualize those possibilities.
Manifesting is when we go beyond feeling happy, and we actually share that happiness with others in tangible and meaningful ways in the world.
Wishing you Gods blessings on this adventure. Let your goodness shine.

A Thought
When prayers aren't answered... This frustration happens because our minds expect to see changes manifest in a specific way. The important thing to understand though is that the changes in the world that happen because of us (and others) aren't always visible to us. This is especially true the further we physically are away from what we are trying to change. For example, what if you pray for violence to stop in a war zone, but the war didn't stop for 10 years? How do you know that your prayers didn't impact a little boy who grew up, made certain connections, and proposed and implemented a unique idea that eventually found its way to the right person?

Pastor Steepek
Pastor Jeremiah Steepek (pictured) transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food....NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit in the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him. As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek"....The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood up.....and started walking down the aisle.....the clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment....then he recited; "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see a gathering of people......not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to become disciples? He then dismissed service until next week.......Being a Christian is more than something you claim. It's something you live by and share with others.

Laughter the best medicine
Italian At St. Peter's Catholic Church in Toronto, they have weekly husbands' marriage seminars. At the session last week, the priest asked Giuseppe, who said he was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes and share some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman all these years. Giuseppe replied to the assembled husbands, 'Wella, I'va tried to treat her nicea, spenda da money on her, but besta of all is, I tooka her to Italy for the 25th anniversary!' The priest responded, 'Giuseppe, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here! Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for your 50th anniversary?' Giuseppe proudly replied, " I gonna go pick her up."
GOD HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR A woman received a call that her daughter was sick. She stopped by the pharmacy to get medication, got back to her car and found that she had locked her keys inside. The woman found an old rusty coat hanger left on the ground. She looked at it and said "I don't know how to use this." She bowed her head and asked God to send her HELP. Within5 minutes a beat up old motorcycle pulled up. A bearded man who was wearing an old biker skull rag. The man got off of his cycle and asked if he could help. She said: "Yes, my daughter is sick. I've locked my keys in my car. I must get home. Please, can you use this hanger to unlock my car?" He said "Sure." He walked over to the car, and in less than a minute the car was open. She hugged the man and through tears said "Thank You SO Much! You are very nice man." The man replied "Lady, I am NOT a nice man. I just got out of PRISON yesterday, I was in prison for car theft." The woman hugged the man again sobbing, "Oh, thank you God! You even sent me a Professional!" |
