A while back I was skimming the TV guide to see what was on and I find myself drawn to the movie "Minority Report." I'd seen it many years ago, and I didn't remember what it was about.
As I watched Minority Report, I was reminded of my explorations with manifesting and many of the questions and mystery surrounding the topic. In case you're not familiar with the movie, or haven't seen it in a while, here's the basic synopsis: In Washington DC, a team of 3 psychics are used to foresee murders before they happen. The Precrime team then arrests the perpetrators before the victims are murdered. Consequently, murders in Washington DC during the previous 6 years were reduced to zero.
The system is perfect.
It ALWAYS works.
Then in a twist of fate, the Chief of the Pre-crime police team is fated to be...
A perpetrator.
"They always run," he used to say about the perpetrators. Now he's the one running.
Without spoiling the movie, what I will say is that the rest of the movie looks at the relationship between predetermination (fate / destiny) and free will. It asks the question: If things are predetermined, then do we even have free will? Some people believe that everything is predecided for us, and we're merely actors or puppets in this play of life. There are no accidents. No coincidences. Others believe that we have completely free will. That our choices are ours; Coincidences are merely coincidences.
There's also people who believe that some things are fated, while others are not.
Some people say we can't control what happens to us, yet we still have free will in how we respond to what happens to us. And others believe that the Law of Attraction is in 100% constant effect, even to the point to suggest that every single experience of our lives is something we attract. In other words, it was fated... as a consequence of our free will decisions.
Now to circle back to the movie, Minority Report... As I mentioned, the system is perfect and it always works. However, as the movie progresses, the main character learns that in very rare circumstances, there is a "Minority Report." This Minority Report occurs when the 1 most powerful of the 3 psychics predicts a different outcome than the other two psychics.
In other words, the Minority Report represents what is possible in rare situations where free will is present (regardless of whether free will is exercised). It also represents an opportunity in your life.
Imagine you could manifest anything you want in your life. Anything at all. What would it look like?
That's your personal Minority Report.
It's the opportunity presented to you between what has been predetermined for your future by your previous actions. It's what your future can look like if you decide to exercise free will... And step beyond your previously programmed habits and thought patterns.
Or phrased another way:
How good can you imagine your life becoming?
God Bless you.

I remain,

Walking with the Church
Saturday Mass for Sunday Several pointed out that most canonists, based on Pope Pius XII's apostolic constitution "Christus Dominus" and the Code of Canon Law, No. 1248.1, which speaks of Saturday evening ("vespere") Mass, say that 4 p.m., is the recognized time after which Sunday Masses may be celebrated. This canon also states that Catholics may fulfill their Sunday and holy-day obligations by assisting at any Catholic Mass after this time. Therefore, if a Catholic were to attend a wedding at this time, even if the ceremony lacked the elements proper to a Sunday Mass, he or she would be fulfilling the Sunday precept. This would also be the case if a holy day of obligation fell on a Saturday or Monday. A Catholic who assisted at morning and evening Mass on either Saturday or Sunday would fulfill both holy-day precepts, even if the Mass formulas were of the same day. It would always be required to go to Mass twice though, so there is no "killing two birds with one stone," as the saying goes. To be clear, I am merely stating the minimum legal requirements and am not recommending this as a practice, which I believe would often be pastorally and spiritually detrimental to the faithful. Therefore a pastor should do all that he can to assure that a Saturday evening wedding has all the elements of Sunday Mass and also encourage the faithful to fulfill their calling to glorify God and celebrate the fullness of the liturgical year

 Choose Transformational Patterns
From Seven Choices for Success and Significance by Nido R. Qubein The bottom line is this: What you choose is what you get. Five years from today, you will be exactly the same person you are today except for the choices you make beginning right now. You make a lot of choices every day-what to wear, what to have for breakfast, which route to drive to work, etc. Those are transactional choices. But you can also choose at any point to transform your life. Those transformational choices are wise decisions that can change the direction of your life-putting your life on a path to success... and more importantly... significance. The people who I admire most don't live their lives by a "to-do" list; they live their lives by a "to-be" list, for example: I want to be more generous, more patient, more learned, more reasoned. While you can check things quickly off a "to-do" list, it may be several months before you cross something off your "to-be" list. And here's the other side of the coin: You can't have a "to-be" list, without having a "stop doing" list. To become something, you must undo something...acting on an item from your "stop doing" list.
Those who live by a "to-be" list have discovered wisdom...an education that serves them well for life. |

Laughter the best medicine
Milk Switch To help a friend lose weight, I told her that she should switch to lower-fat foods, including skim milk. When she said her family would drink only whole milk, I suggested that she keep their regular container and refill it with skim milk. This worked for quite a while, until her daughter asked one morning whether the milk was okay. "Sure, it's fine," my friend answered, fearing she had been found out. "Why do you ask?" The daughter explained, "Well, according to the expiration date, this milk expired two years ago!"
Bulletin Bloopers Several members who have been in the hospital are not on their way to recovery, for which we are thankful. The Jack and Kill Daycare is looking for someone to help part time on Saturdays. What are you doing for Lunch Tuesday? Local Funeral Director Barry Gilbert will talk about the benefits of cremation. Leak Repair
My husband's skills with do-it-yourself home repairs are at best mediocre. After spending several evenings trying to fix a leak in the bathroom, he finally admitted defeat and called a plumber, who finished the job in ten minutes. Watching him put away his equipment, my son asked what had been the problem. "Well," the plumber replied, "seems that your father got hold of some tools..."

The Devotion of the Three Hail Mary's
The devotion of the THREE HAIL MARYS is a very simple yet most efficacious devotion.
Everyday, recite Three Hail Marys, adding the invocation: "O Mary, My Mother, keep me from mortal sin." Many people recite the Three Hail Marys as part of their morning and night prayers. To practice this devotion in time of danger, stress, special need or temptation, is a sure means to obtain Our Lady's help.
Due to excessive vomiting and diarrhea I was admitted to the ER. The diarrhea continued for nearly 5 days and finally a CT scan was advised. It was then that I recited the 3 Hail Marys for a clear report. Since the doctors could not find anything wrong they discharged me. I always recite the Three Hail Marys and I know that Our Lady never fails. A Devotee My sincere thanks to Our Lord Jesus Christ and to Mother Mary, Help of Christians for the favors and blessings received through the recitation of the 3 Hail Marys.
