Mart� Radio, TV and Web Transmissions for Cuba Continue After Newsroom Fire
U.S. government broadcasts to Cuba continued after a trashcan fire forced the temporary evacuation of the headquarters of the Office of Cuba Broadcasting in Miami on April 22. The building housing Radio and Television Mart� and the Martinoticias.com website, on NW 77th Avenue in Miami, sustained damage due to an accidental fire caused by a lighted cigarette left in a container in a designated smoking area outside the building. Yoani S�nchez Visits the Mart�s
Cuban blogger Yoani S�nchez made a live, in-person appearance on April 2 at the Mart�s' headquarters in Miami as part of her 80-day world tour to raise awareness about human rights issues in Cuba.

Alhurra Hosts Foreign Service Officers
Alhurra Television was visited by a group of 13 Foreign Service Officers who will be assigned to embassies and consulates in Jordan, Jerusalem, Egypt, Morocco and Iraq. The diplomats are studying at the Foreign Service Institute's School of Arabic Language and Cultural Studies and will be heading to the region this summer.

Robert Zaal, director of Radio Nederlands Worldwide (RNW), briefed BBG management on the Dutch broadcaster's recent restructuring and discussed possible avenues for collaboration with the BBG and its broadcasters. Read More
