What a fantastic day! It was great to see students return after summer break. The sheer excitement about finding out their new elements and the joy on their faces when they saw old friends made for an electrified atmosphere at BASIS Phoenix today. In addition to elements and schedules, students also received first day packets with forms that you should review and have your child return to their first period class.
Tomorrow, we will begin our regularly scheduled courses and instruction. Students in grade 5 or a morning elective will be in school from 7:20 am until 2:35 pm. Students in grades 6, 7, or a morning elective will be in school from 8:15 am until 3:30 pm. Early Bird and Late Bird will both be available tomorrow.
Student hours will not begin until early next week.POOL PARTY: Save the date! The Boosters will be hosting a

La Camarilla on
Friday, August 9, from 6 to 8 pm! All BASIS Phoenix families can request an invite from our Boosters by emailing

TRAFFIC: Thank you for your patience with the traffic process today! We know that the wait time will improve in the next few weeks. If we all pay close attention to some new procedures in place, we can cut down on the time significantly. We appreciate your cooperation.
Please remember the following guidelines:
-Students whose last name begins with A-R should be dropped off on the
north side of the building.
-Students whose last name begins with S-Z should be dropped off on the
south side of the building.
-To avoid traffic backing up onto 32nd Street, arrive at least 10 minutes after dismissal.
-Pull forward alongside the curb as far as space permits so that additional cars can fit behind you.
-Do not stop in front of the doors; instead, continue to pull forward as much as possible. Your child will be directed to follow along on the sidewalk until your vehicle comes to a complete stop.
-Do not abandon your vehicle in the loading zone to retrieve your child! Staff will direct all children toward their parents' vehicles.
-NO left turns in or out of BASIS Phoenix!
We have also re-instituted
carpool drop-off/pick-up per your request! We ask that carpooling parents always drop off and pick up on the south side of the building, along with last names
S-Z.
