Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
With just a few weeks left of the summer, we are finalizing updates to our calendars and preparing first day packets for our students.
In addition to welcoming a new batch of 5th graders and growing the teaching staff by adding four new full-time teachers, we have also made some changes at the administrative level for next year.
Mrs. Barb DeLisa, our Head of Operations, has transitioned to the BASIS.Ed corporate office in the role of School Liaison this summer. She will now be responsible for training and supporting Heads of Operations at all BASIS schools.
Joining BASIS Phoenix as the new Head of Operations is Cory Cyr, a BASIS veteran and former Head of Operations at BASIS Chandler. Mr. Cyr joins us after not only starting Chandler two years ago, but also after working in the New Schools Office at BASIS.Ed. His biography is included in the sidebar on the right.
Since we are growing, we are also expanding the support staff available to our students. Mr. Tim Eyerman, who taught Latin and classics with us last year, will be taking on the role of Upper School Director. Ms. Bonnie Chatterjee will continue working closely with Lower School students and will thus take on the title of Lower School Director.
And last, but not least, I also have the pleasure of welcoming a new Special Education Specialist for BASIS Phoenix. Mr. Tod Keltner joins us this July to replace Mr. Segall, who relocated to the East Coast this summer. Mr. Keltner, who has previously worked as the Special Education Coordinator at BASIS Peoria for two years, brings with him an expertise in supporting students with different learning styles as well as a commitment to helping all students succeed.
Please join me in welcoming this wonderfully talented group of individuals! Be sure to say hello to them when you stop by this summer!
Sincerely,
Petra Pajtás
Head of School
