Arlington County Approves The Villages
A mixed-use development is coming to the corner of Columbia Pike and George Mason Drive.
The Arlington County Board approved the redevelopment on February 20th, which includes new six-story apartment building with 365 market-rate residential units, new retail spaces and a three-level parking garage.  Learn More Here. 

3100 Clarendon
After over 20 years of housing the Department of Defense, the stalwart 3100 Clarendon Blvd. in Arlington, VA has debuted a new, contemporary look that seamlessly integrates the tower into the thriving urban village center.  This recently completed, comprehensive renovation included state of the art replacement of the building mechanical and electrical systems and fa�ade enhancements to achieve LEED certification. The two story ground level retail was replaced with wide glass openings to reconnect the street activity with the retailers such as Pacers Running, Mister Day's and Mad Rose Tavern.
Comcast SportsNet
Located in Bethesda, Comcast SportsNet expanded to take over their entire floor.  Project included a new TV Studio, Studio Control Room, remodeled private offices with glass fronts, Executive Suite, Conferencing and modifications to the existing Newsroom.

NAIOP National Award Winner For Senior Living Design - The Aria

KGD Architecture has announced that Aria, a conceptual 1 million-square-foot multi-generational, mixed-income, and mixed-use community designed by the firm-has won the national NAIOP Niche Development design competition for senior living. 
Aria consists of a vibrant, one-acre public courtyard at the center of three buildings. The concept redevelops an existing multifamily building into a combination of market-rate and affordable housing, with areas that showcase art and technology uses, as well as medical offices. Aileen Horn, AIA Joins KGD Architecture as New Director of Hospitality

Ms. Horn joins KGD with over 20 years of hospitality design experience. Horn received her Master of Architecture from Columbia University and BS in Architecture from University of Virginia. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and is a LEED Accredited Professional with BD+C (Building Design and Construction) specialty. She is also an accomplished oil and silk painter and member of Silk Painters International, appearing in exhibitions across the Mid-Atlantic and New Mexico. Read more about Ms. Horn here.
