 Star Wars at
Easttown Library
On Saturday, August 9th, Easttown Library welcomed the Imperial Troops from Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion. Over 160 children and their families enjoyed a visit from these Star Wars characters.
Garrison Carida® is a group of community-minded volunteers who, through portraying the characters of the Star Wars films, benefit the community. Donations of new Star Wars toys were collected at Easttown Library. These toys will be distributed when Garrison Carida volunteers visit young patients at area hospitals.
 Summer 2013 Lego Exhibition
Wednesday, August 7, Easttown Library hosted its 5th summer Lego Exhibition. As part of this exhibit, children were encouraged to create a backstory to accompany their Lego sculpture. We are so impressed by these stories and the creativity expressed in the Lego sculptures. On Sunday and Monday, September 1st and 2nd the library will be closed for the Labor Day weekend.
Look Up to the Stars Monday, August 19th, 7 p.m. Astrophysicist Kevin Manning will share his passion for astronomy. Join us for a brief program inside the library followed by sky-gazing through a powerful telescope outside. If it rains, the program will be held indoors. No registration required: all ages.
The Tech-Savvy Bookworm: Reading on Your iPad
Tuesday, September 10th, 11 a.m.
This workshop will teach you how to download free library eBooks to your iPad. We will cover the Chester County Library System's OverDrive app, as well as a few other fun apps for reading magazines and articles. Registration is required, click here to register online. Emerging Trends & Their Impact on Local Businesses
Wednesday, September 18th, 8-9:30 a.m
Start your day with a valuable SCORE workshop, coffee and bagels, and a chance to meet local business professionals. In this upcoming seminar, economic, social, technological, and energy trends will be analyzed as they pertain to Pennsylvania and Chester County to help you adapt your business strategy to our changing world. We have had a busy summer at Easttown
Library. Each day people gathered to enjoy a wide variety of entertaining and innovative programs. Reading with Animals, Science in the Summer, concerts, and fun hands-on activities engaged both children and adults.
As a dynamic center for education in our community, Easttown Library provides individuals and families with accessible opportunities to grow and learn. The books, computers and the staff's helpful assistance are some of the means through which we empower people to achieve their goals. Each time you visit the library, we hope that you will not only find what you are looking for, but we also hope you will discover something new and unexpected.
