On Tuesday, June 11, the Friends of Easttown Library presented the library with a check for $26,000. This money was raised through many different Friends programs and events and is being used to fund the MasterFile Premier database, multiple copies of bestsellers, teen books, music CDs, and programming for youth.
In addition to their annual gift to the library, the Friends of Easttown Library made a donation of $3,000 to the Easttown Library Foundation Endowment Fund. This generous gift to the Endowment Fund came from the proceeds of the very successful Evening at Downton Abbey fundraising event held in April at Hilltop House.
We are also pleased to note that the Easttown Library Foundation has been recognized for the second year as an eligible recipient of funding through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program ( EITC). Beginning July 1st, businesses that make contributions to the Foundation through this program in support of the library's educational programs will be eligible for tax benefits. At Easttown Library, our community is the driving force behind the services we provide, the programs we hold, and the items we purchase for our collection. Support from individuals, organizations and businesses strengthen the library's ability to fulfill its mission and help the library to meet the rising demand for services. | |

Community Partners
Members of the library staff are proud of their longstanding partnership with the third grade class at Devon Elementary School. This year the entire grade held a Read-A-Thon for the benefit of Easttown Library. At the third grade's annual spring visit to the library, students presented a check for nearly $1,500. We are honored by this gift and the student's efforts on behalf of the library. The money will be used to purchase fiction and nonfiction books that will serve the academic and reading pleasure needs of 3rd and 4th graders. We are pleased to be entering the second year of a partnership with Spa Car Wash in Berwyn. The library receives $5 from each Real Works car wash. Pick up a coupon on your next visit to the Library! We would also like to acknowledge a generous contribution to the library from Whole Foods in Devon. This gift is important as we seek to meet the growing demand for our services, especially during the busy summer months. We are so grateful for these investments in Easttown Library. Support from people in the community contributes to a quality public library today and into the future.
