THE HABIT OF GIVING ONLY ENHANCES THE DESIRE TO GIVE
*  WALT WHITMAN

FREE BIRTHDAY GIFT(s)

Today is my birthday and I wanted to give you a birthday gift since I've been a terribly negligent newsletter writer.

The truth is I've been "too busy writing to write" --
  • I finished a new book
  • I wrote another 90 page proposal
  • I had dinner with President Obama (more on that later)
  • And our film premiered in the U.S. (see below)
And honestly, that was just this May! So...

FOR THE FIRST 5 PEOPLE who email me, I'll mail you FREE DVD of YOGA IN BED.

FOR EVERYONE: a FREE viewing of YOGA IN BED online.

(Note: once you start, you have 3 full days to enjoy the video. And/or if you decide you want to own the download, you can also take 50% off the price later).

The discount code is welcome! and can use it here:

MY BIRTHDAY TRADITION

Every year on my birthday I stand, fall back into a full wheel, and spring back up...once for every year of my life. And today I did again at Exhale in NYC where I teach.

Here's a photo of me from last year's shoot on my terrace by my great friend Sarah Harrington.

And if you're interested in the essay I wrote about this crazy, extreme yoga practice and why it's meaningful to me, here it is:

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER LOVE LETTER

WITH CHILD--the indie feature I'm associate producing--after premiering this May at the Soho Int'l Film Festival got this rave review:

An auspicious feature debut...WITH CHILD displays a refreshing
quirkiness bolstered by its clever screenplay, which features a multitude of funny one-liners. ... Relating its essentially serious storyline with an abundance of such humorous moments, the film proves a low-key charmer, with the two talented lead performers delivering their laugh lines in a quietly deadpan fashion that only makes them funnier. Thankfully avoiding the sort of melodramatic courtroom showdown endemic to such similarly themed predecessors as KRAMER VS. KRAMER, WITH CHILD culminates in a feel-good ending that seems well earned.

And our indiegogo campaign was 138% funded (although you can still give HERE if you like).

Today, July 2nd, is the exact MIDPOINT of the year.

Are you halfway to where you want to be...?

Maybe I can help.

IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE IN SOUTH AFRICA

The show I directed starring the immensely talented writer/performer Leslie Lewis is headlining the National Arts Festival, the largest in Africa, this July.

It may not be on your vacation schedule yet but it's totally worth the trip!

OK...back to writing and rehearsal and more!
