Recently over lunch with a dear friend, she shared a brilliant
re-definition of Surrender:

It's been a
VERY rough week and I'll be honest:
SURRENDERING is definitely the lesson I most need to learn.
And after teaching yoga for nearly 15 years -- even though Idina Menzel sings about it a lot these days -- I know I'm not alone.
Nothing is as challenging in the yoga practice (or life)
as Learning to
LET IT GO.

That's why no yoga pose is nearly as difficult -- or as important -- as Savasana ("Corpse Pose") where you simply lie still at the end of your practice.
Sounds (and looks) easy, right? ... Wrong!
Students often sneak out of the room in droves right before Savasana, less because they have a pressing engagement, but more I think because they're just not comfortable with ... doing nothing ... with letting go ... with surrendering ...
Far more than the body, the mind REALLY NEEDS the surrender of letting go -- something far more challenging for most of us.
After one troubled and sleepless night this week, I stumbled across this video from Eckhart Tolle on the Wisdom of Surrender. It was a revelation so I had to share it here:

(In fact, I liked this so much from 3 to 4 a.m. I transcribed the entire thing; email me if you'd like a copy.)
