We have a lot to be thankful for in 2014, and as such we have a lot of news to share before we ring in the New Year. In this e-newsletter you will learn out about our new staff member, see what we are doing In the Field these days and find details of our upcoming Annual General Meeting. Year-end giving opportunities and a message from our Board are also included. Enjoy!

WELCOME
New Staff Member

Join us in welcoming our newest staff member, Gay Guthrie. Gay is our Volunteer Coordinator, a very important role in our organization. This position is made possible by a grant through

The Somos El Barco Fund of Tides Canada.

Gay brings with her many years of experience in the community - working with the library, museum and building her own successful business.

We are so pleased to have Gay on our team. She will be updating our Volunteer program and ensuring that all volunteers are engaged in meaningful work. Visit our website if you are interested in joining the 'Green Team'.

NOTES FROM THE FIELD
Fall/Winter 2014

The grassland enhancement projects on Bluebird Ranch are continuing. Dave Hawke, Stewardship Program Manager, has been on-site for over 75 visits, assisted by a terrific team of volunteers. As clumps of cedar trees are removed the open grassland area is extended. This will provide much needed habitat for bobolinks, meadowlarks and other species that require large open grassy areas in which to nest. This project has been on-going since January 2014, and over 300 hours of volunteer time has been provided. Thank you!

Visit our website to read more about what our volunteers and staff have been up to in the field. You can read our Spring/Summer edition our website as well.

GO ON AN ADVENTURE

We believe that Molly, and all people, have the right to swim in clean water, explore a variety of natural settings & to hug trees that have been around longer than any of us will be.

Let's make sure the children like Molly have a strong connection to nature and wild places to explore.

Consider donating today. Support us through Canada Helps, sign up as a Monthly Donor or explore other gift giving opportunities.

Add a little happy into your day - watch a two minute video of Molly and her friends playing in the forest and remember - they are the reason that we are working so hard today to protect nature.
