GETTING TO KNOW FRANK HEPLER
By Craig Sager II

Hepler prepares for next set of challenges

Former West Forsyth head coach Frank Hepler told the Wolverines last April that he was resigning as head coach after leading the program since its inception in 2007. Hepler returned to Florida to coach last season but is back in Georgia to build another program from the ground up; Discovery High School in Gwinnett County. Hepler has 22 years of experience as a head coach and, prior to his tenure at West Forsyth, he spent 14 years at the helm of Plantation High School in Florida.

The decision to resign last year was based on moving back to Florida for family reasons.

Both of Hepler's parents live in South Florida and his daughter is recently married and living in the area. Hepler served as the defensive coordinator at Cypress Bay High School in Weston.

Hepler had tremendous success at West Forsyth. He led the program to seven consecutive winning seasons and compiled a 51-18 record in his seven years at the school.

On Thursday, he revealed his plans in an interview with the Gwinnett Daily Post on starting Discovery's football program once the new Gwinnett school opens.
