Centennial star continues historic scoring pace
Lacrosse standout Nate Solomon became the No. 5 scorer in high school lacrosse history over the weekend after putting together 10 goals and seven assists in the Knights victories over Plant (FL) (22-6) and Gulf Coast (FL) (23-3). Solomon passed Casey Powell for No. 5
on the all-time list, a player Solomon looks to be taking a similar trail as. Powell captained the US Nationally team and was a four-time All-American at Syracuse, the college Solomon will be attending next fall.
Solomon sits at 558 career points and will lead the 11-1 Knights into the final six games of the regular season. Only two high school players have ever hit 600 career points.
Centennial is off until April 17 when they face McCallie (TN) and return to action the next day to play Montgomery Bell Academy (TN). The final four games on the season slate will be played right in out backyard and will give us a chance to witness Solomon as he chases history. Centennial closes out its season with Milton (4/23), North Gwinnett (4/28), South Forsyth (4/30) at home before the season finale at Harrison (5/1).

FOOTBALL SCHEDULES RELEASED

GHSA publishes 2015-16 football schedules
This is year two of the last region shuffling so much of the 2015 football season will be mirrored from last year, but the non-region slates for some of the state's top programs will be different.
Parkview and Peachtree Ridge created an Aug. 22, cross-state double-header instead of repeating their matchup from last year. Peachtree Ridge will play the Volunteer state's Class 3A champion, Christ Presbyterian of Nashville, which was 15-0 last season. Parkview will face state power McCallie.
Buford will put its 40-game win-streak on the line with Eastern Christian of Maryland in an Aug. 21 home opener. Eastern Christian is an independent school founded largely for the purpose of developing football players for the next level.
Tucker dominated region-play last year with hardly any competition but the Tigers will add a Sept. 11 showdown with Tennessee Class 6A power Blackman to boost their more challenging non-region lineup. Tucker opens its season in the nightcap of Corky Kell Classic with McEachern on Aug. 22 and faces Godby (FL) the following Saturday on Aug 29 in the Annual Battle of the Borders marathon. Before Tucker reeled off 10 straight wins last season, the Tigers fell in overtime to Norcross in their opener at the Corky Kell 32-29 before losing to defending National Champion Booker T. Washington (FL) 19-7 at Hallford the next Saturday.
