FRIDAY HOOPS PREVIEW
By Craig Sager II
No. 6 Douglas County hosts No. 4 Pebblebrook in Region 3 showdown

It's the final month of regular season basketball action and the first weekend back from the holidays has set up some great matchups to watch for. In Class AAAAAA, the game to watch is No. 4 Pebblebrook at No. 6 Douglas County. These two teams are both undefeated in Region 3 and have dominated their other region opponents.

Pebblebrook's Derek Ogbeide is a force in the paint at 6-foot-8, 240 pounds and is signed to UGA. Ty Hudson (Clemson commit), Trhae Mitchell and Jared Harper also star in the Falcons lineup.

Douglas County is led by combo guard Brandon Robinson and a lineup with the size and athleticism to compete with anyone. Douglas County sits at 11-3 but its only instate loss was to St. Francis in November. Robinson is considered the No. 4 junior prospect in the state according to 247sports.

The Milton Boys are at Walton is a Region 5 game where both teams are looking for improvement. Milton was trounced by Wheeler 83-35 last Saturday but responded with a 57-48 win over Roswell on Tuesday. Milton is led by 6-foot-8 junior Chris Lewis and football star Q'uarte Sapp.

In Gwinnett County, No. 10 Duluth visits No. 8 Norcross. Norcross, Duluth and Collins Hill all enter Friday night with 4-1 records in Region 7-AAAAAA. Norcross comes off a thrilling 87-84 Tuesday night victory over Mill Creek and Duluth looks to bounce back after a 50-43 loss to Collins Hill on Tuesday.

On the girls side, the stat's top teams look find themselves in intriguing region match ups Friday night. In Class AAAAAA, Region 5's Woodstock (14-0) hosts Wheeler and Region 3's Westlake (13-0) will visit Hughes (9-3). Region 6 will see 10-3 Chattahoochee visit No. 2 North Forsyth (14-2). Harrison at No. 5 Osborne, North Paulding at No. 1 McEachern, Dacula at No. 6 Parkview, No. 4 Archer at Berkmar and Duluth at No. 8 Norcross are key matchups featuring a top 10 team in Class AAAAAA.
