Hoyas, Bulldogs climb in Class AAAAAA
In Class AAAAAA boys lacrosse, battle-tested Harrison (7-0) moves up to No. 2 with wins over Etowah, Walton and Westminster on its resume. North Gwinnett (6-0) moved up one spot to No. 3 with its 10-7 win over Mill Creek last Wednesday and Milton jumped to No. 4 with a 12-1 win over Walton last Tuesday. Peachtree Ridge debuts at No. 10 and replaces Chattahoochee, which lost its fourth game of the season on Thursday (12-8 to Lambert).
The McIntosh boys lost their third straight game and fell out of the top 10 in Class A-AAAAA. Greater Atlanta Christian replaced the Chiefs in the poll after posting back-to-back victories over Riverside Military (19-2) and Blessed Trinity (6-2).
The Milton girls remain No. 1 in Class AAAAAA, despite a 15-11 loss to Vero Beach (Fla.) on Thursday. Vero Beach is 8-0 and one of the best teams in Florida. No. 3 Chattahoochee played three Florida schools last week. The Cougars fell 20-9 to Ponte Vedra and 19-12 to Creekside, but managed a 17-0 shutout over Fletcher. Roswell fell to No. 9 after losing its third straight game on Tuesday to Harrison (16-15). Woodstock is replaced at No. 10 by Lambert (5-1) after getting routed by Walton 25-5 last Wednesday.
The undefeated Kell girls (5-0) entered the top three in Class A-AAAAA with their 13-11 win over Johns Creek last Tuesday. Wesleyan replaces Marist for No. 10 and recently defeated St. Pius X 16-15 in double overtime.

The GAC boys and girls golf teams had a great weekend as both teams won

the East Lake Golf Invitational on Saturday at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. The boys teams shot 227 while the girls shot 185. The boys were led by Steffen Smith, who shot a 71 to tie for low medalist. Ben Shipp was right behind Smith, shooting a 76 and Regan Cink shot 80. The girls were led by Elizabeth Mizell who shot 85.
The Walton boys, the defending Cobb County champions, are well on their way to another strong season as they won the Bentwater Invitational on Saturday at the Bentwater Golf Club in Acworth. The Raiders shot 299 while runner-up Lambert shot 315 and Harrison came in third place with a score of 318. The Raiders were led by Michael Sheahan, placing second with an even-par 72. John Yi and Nick Orrell-Jones each shot 75.
The Gainesville girls held their annual Chattahoochee Invitational on Saturday at the Chattahoochee Golf Club and finished second just behind Cambridge. Rachel Dai of Cambridge won the individual championship, shooting 73. Ashleigh Bishop led the Red Elephants as she shot a 76, which was good enough for second place.

Eagle's Landing sweeps Oconee Classic
The Eagle's Landing boys traveled to North Oconee High School on Saturday to take part in the Oconee Barberitos Classic and returned to McDonough with a win. They scored 109.5 points while Cedar Shoals came in second place with 99 points. Andy Constant led the Eagles as he won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.01. Devin Dixon came in second in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:41 while Josh Riley came in second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.45. The Eagles also won the 4x100 meter relay.
Over in Roswell, the Union Grove boys won the Roswell Relays, scoring 59 points while second-place Norcross scored a 46. Chuck McConville and Trent Hill came in first and fourth place in the discus throw, respectively. Caleb Roberts won the triple jump with a distance of 44-05.
On the girls side, Eagle's Landing also won the Oconee Barberitos Classic, scoring 135 points. Dacula came in second with 94 points. Detrich Lodge won the 100-meter hurdles and Dahlia Ward won the 400-meter dash for the victorious Golden Eagles. The Eagles also won the 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay. Betty Jackson won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27 while Ariel Pryor came in second with a time of 2:34.
Over in the Roswell relays, the Marietta girls won with a score of 65 while Mill Creek came in second with 44. Elizabeth Hartley won the pole vault, which was the only first-place finish for the Blue Devils. She also came in third place in the high jump. Janai Burton and Nia Seldon came in second and fourth in the shot put, respectively, and the Blue Devils came in second place in the sprint medley relay, third place in the 4x100 meter relay and Tatiyana Rayford came in third place in the 100-meter dash.
