The trade shows that Rare Sportsfilms participates in throughout the year are excellent venues at which to meet other collectors with similar interests and visit in person with Rare Sportsfilms!
We are always offering specials at our booth where you can also ask to see any DVD you may be interested in!
Normally we will have an inventory of 50-200 different DVDs available at any show.

RARE SPORTSFILMS BUYS MORE FILMS!
"I'm always interested in buying MORE vintage 16mm films on sports," says Doak Ewing, 66-year-old owner of Rare Sportsfilms, Inc., a business he started back in 1986. "Often I even buy films that I already own in an effort to get the very best copy of each title I can. They don't make 16mm films anymore, so I figure it best to buy them whenever I can if they are in good shape."
Recently, Ewing had a chance to put his money where his mouth is. Doak explains, "Years ago I came in contact with a film collector near Boston who sold me many NFL films over the next decade or so. Upon receipt, I was always impressed with the quality of his films and also intrigued when he told me he had a 'garage full' of more NFL films that he might someday sell in one big lot. I kept in touch with him periodically, calling him every couple of years to remind him I was still interested in buying them if he ever decided to sell.
Then one day last October the phone rang. 'Hi Doak - it's Jim Duffy from Natick, Massachusetts. Are you still interested in buying ALL my films?' I told Jim I was still interested in buying all of his films on sports. We agreed on a set price per reel and I made arrangements to drive my pickup truck to Boston to make my biggest purchase in the history of Rare Sportsfilms! My brother-in-law Geno McNeill, a champion weight-lifter and body builder, agreed to share the driving and help with the loading, etc. The morning of the second day of our trip we arrived at Jim's house and I got to meet him for the first time after all those years of dealing through the mail! I paid Jim cash on the spot and all together we purchased and loaded up over 275 reels of 16mm film!

After driving back to Chicago, I had an interesting time looking over the purchase. There were about 25 reels of Telesports Digest, along with around 250 reels of NFL, all from before 1970 with some duplicates. We are already upgrading our collection and selling some to other collectors. Others will be used to create more NFL DVDs for Rare Sportsfilms customers!
It was a memorable trip during a pretty time of year with the fall foliage turning color in the Eastern US! Thanks to Jim Duffy and my brother-in-law Geno, a large batch of old NFL films now has a new home at Rare Sportsfilms, Inc.!"
Doak asks, "Anybody else have any SPORTS films to sell??"
