Kentucky Wildflowers Webinar on March 13 at 7 p.m. (Eastern Time)

Take a fascinating journey across Kentucky in search of our
spring ephemeral wildflowers. Participants will learn about the timing of blooming periods as well as the ecology behind the short-lived nature of these beautiful flowers. Other topics covered will be where these species occur, which soil types, slopes, aspects, and whether they are common or rare. Plant families will also be discussed which should help individuals identify these flowers. A good companion book to follow along with the images and discussion is the Wildflowers and Ferns of Kentucky by Thomas G. Barnes and S. Wilson Francis.

This program can be viewed at the following county extension offices: Boyd, Breathitt, Carter, Elliott, Hardin, Henry, Nelson, Ohio, Trimble, and Woodford. Additional counties are being added so please check
www2.ca.uky.edu/forestryextension/webinars.php for the latest list.  If a county near you is not hosting the webinar you can watch it online by visiting https://connect.uky.edu/kentuckywildflowers/
