The Kentucky Department of Agriculture under the direction of Commissioner, James Comer and with the assistance of UK College of Agriculture, Department of Forestry Extension and the Kentucky Forest Industries Association has brought Kentucky Forest and Forest Industries under the umbrella of the nationally acclaimed KENTUCKY PROUD program. Mr. Ben Shaffer, Director of Agritourism, Kentucky Department of Agriculture stated...We're looking at midwinter to hold a press conference and issue the press release on the expansion of KY Proud to include timber (and equine). Even though timber has already been expanded under KY Proud dating back several months, we've waited to official announce it, as we were trying to launch the initiative in conjunction with our new KY Proud website, which will feature an online Kentucky Proud membership application process.
