Feb 23, 2015 - The Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA) is a national, non-profit association supported by stakeholders in the forage and grassland industry. Our mission is to promote the growth of the forage and grassland sector by advocating a sustainable and environmentally friendly industry which includes; research and development, market development and innovation, thereby enhancing the industry's ability to profitably produce and supply forage and grassland products that offer superior value to producers and consumers in Canada and internationally.

 

The CFGA is seeking an Executive Director who will provide overall leadership and guide the CFGA in its continued growth. Responsibilities include providing direction and input for the forage and grassland sector in areas such as, research and extension; domestic and export forage market development; forage and grassland and the environment, as well as responding to priority issues identified by member organizations, producers and users.  

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have strong leadership, management, administration, communication and planning skills. Experience in working with a large volunteer Board of Directors and Committees would be an asset as is knowledge and experience in the forage and grassland sector.   The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.

  • This is an approximate two-thirds time position with the potential to develop into a full time position
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience
  • This position is not location specific and it is expected that the successful candidate may work out of his/her home or office.

L'Association Canadienne pour les Plantes Fourrag�res (ACPF) est une organisation canadienne soutenue par les partenaires financiers de l'industrie fourrag�re. Notre mission est de promouvoir la croissance du secteur fourrager par la promotion d'une industrie renouvelable et �cologique, incluant la recherche et d�veloppement et l'innovation, afin d'aider l'industrie � produire et fournir des plantes fourrag�res offrant une valeur sup�rieure aux producteurs et aux consommateurs, au Canada et � l'�tranger.


 

L'ACPF est � la recherche d'un directeur g�n�ral qui offrira son leadership et guidera l'organisation vers une croissance continuelle. Parmi les responsabilit�s : orienter le domaine fourrager dans les secteurs de la recherche et de la vulgarisation, aider le d�veloppement du march� domestique et celui de l'exportation � l'�tranger, songer aux questions environnementales et r�pondre aux questions et aux probl�mes prioritaires tels qu'identifi�s par les membres, les producteurs et les utilisateurs.


 

Qualifications   

Le candidat id�al poss�de des habilit�s accrues en leadership, en gestion, en administration, en communication et en planification. Une exp�rience de travail avec un conseil d'administration b�n�vole et ses comit�s et une connaissance ainsi qu'une exp�rience dans le secteur des plantes fourrag�res sont des atouts.

  • Le candidat retenu sera motiv�, autonome et capable de travailler sans supervision.
  • Le poste repr�sente environ les deux tiers d'un poste � temps plein avec le potentiel de devenir �ventuellement un poste � temps plein.
  • Le salaire sera adapt� � l'exp�rience du candidat retenu.

  • Le poste n'est pas li� � un emplacement g�ographique pr�cis; le candidat pourra travailler � distance.
