Q: I am thinking about participating in this year's Make One Change program but want to hear what other members thought.
Here is what a few past year participants had
to say about the program.
"It was hard making a commitment to the Make One Change program at first because I did not have a true commitment to exercising more. But after I started, the staff at the Wellness Center made me feel so welcome, that I looked forward to coming just to say "hi." They encouraged me to come for 15 minutes if that was all I could manage that day. But what they really did was give me the freedom to accept the tight schedule I had used as an excuse for not coming, and work with it to set up a new habit to feeling good about coming and about myself. Baby steps are always welcomed." ~Anonymous
"The one change I selected was exercise. The Make One Change Program provided focus, enrichment and motivation to be successful with exercise that supports a healthy lifestyle. The seminars, use of technology and staff outreach were excellent resources. I learned that numbers matter, whether they related to weight, inches, BMI, BP,--good numbers are part of our healthy lifestyle goal--for life. Thanks!" ~Patty Bates
"I pretty much know what works for me and have my routines down, but believe me, I'm no expert and am open to comments, suggestions and instruction by the Wellness Center's expert staff. That is why I learned so much from (and enjoyed) the Make One Change program. Another thing I know that works for me is a little added structure and motivation, which is why I was so happy to participate in Make One Change. My only suggestion is to change the name; for me there were many changes--not just one! The classroom instruction, studio sessions, as well as the pre-testing and follow-up all made this the total package. I recommend this excellent program to anyone." ~Chip
