Office of National Coordinator for Health IT Offers Training | Free, Federally Funded Rural and Community Clinic Curriculum and Trainer Training
This health information technology training program was designed for rural clinics and community health centers to help equip them to meet Meaningful Use (MU) criteria and to increase workforce capacity for the design, configuration, use, and maintenance of informatics interventions that improve health care delivery.
The federal Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) invites trainers from rural health clinics, community health centers and community colleges to download free, complete courseware, and register for free virtual trainer training.
- 8-week, 40-hour course
- Designed for a broad rural healthcare audience, including those
in clinical, non-clinical, and leadership roles - Equips clinic staff with the skills and knowledge needed to help advance health IT projects and meet meaningful use requirements
- Tested in 11 Washington state community and migrant clinics
- Use some or all materials

One of the 14 Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Centers (PERLCs)
The Columbia Regional Learning Center is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide training for the public health workforce.
The CRLC provides FREE, online certificate training courses, webinars, and lectures designed for individuals working in health systems including, but not limited to: Health Care, Public Health, Home Health, Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), Community Health, Regional Learning Centers, and Emergency Management. Listing of Post-Secondary HIT Education Programs Offered in Washington
The Washington Health Information Industry-Education Council (WHIIEC) has released the first edition of the WA Health IT Education Inventory. This document provides useful information to Washington residents who are considering a career in health information technology and informatics, either at the beginning of their careers or contemplating a mid-career change.
The inventory is free and it lists post-secondary education programs offered in Washington or online that will prepare students for a career in health information technology or enhances the health information skill sets of those in other health-related occupations.

Free Webinar - Tips for a Successful EMS Education Program
The NREMT is a non-profit organization founded in 1970 whose mission is to serve as the national EMS certification organization by providing a valid, uniform process to assess the knowledge and skills required for competent practice required by EMS professionals throughout their careers. Prior to the 1970's, a national certification standard for emergency medical care did not exist.
The NREMT has certified over one million EMS providers since its inception. 270,000 are Nationally Certified at the current time. Entry requirements for certification include completing a state-approved EMS education course, and passing the NREMT written and practical examinations.
