Greetings!
the winter is officially here, even that for us in South Florida it might only mean a slight change in wind and humidity. In October we had a wonderful breakfast meeting, where some of our members shared their thoughts on why be part of a FACC. We learned about how extensive our network is, both locally and internationally and what is new in our region. A big thank you for all the speakers and participants.
We are also currently seeking candidates to serve for 2015-2016 term at our board. Volunteering your time at the board gives you a real inside view to the opportunities and possibilities that the chamber offers for you and your company. As a board member you have more power to influence in which direction you want to steer our chamber.
You may reach us at info@facc-fl.com or by calling 561 582 2335.
I would be happy to discuss the roles with you in more detail. Hope to hear from you!
Also keep on eye on your mail, as the year is coming to and end and your membership is due for 2015. We hope you will continue being part of this exciting group of entrepreneurially minded people!
At your service,
Lena Hartikainen
FACC-FL President

WYNCODE AT THE WHITE HOUSE As part of Vice President Biden's "Ready to Work Initiative," the White House invited the founders of coding boot camps, innovative lending platforms and employers to a brainstorming session focused on increasing access for all Americans to accelerated IT learning programs like our member company, Wyncode, and identifying pathways for graduates of these programs to tech jobs. Most states require code schools be licensed and operating for a period of multiple years before student financial aid and/or grant money applies. Wyncode Academy became the first coding bootcamp licensed by the Florida Department of Education's Commission for Independent Education. It is an important step toward increasing access to this type of education for all students who have the grit to become tomorrow's leading developers. Read more what Johanna Mikkola, Co-Founder of Wyncode writes about her experience at the White House here. *******************************
