A U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier will show off its gravity-defying vertical flight capability at the 2014 Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger on June 28th and 29th at Dayton International Airport.

The Harrier will join the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, two National Aviation Hall of Fame enshrinees and other world-class acts at Dayton's premier annual aviation event.

The Harrier's ability to operate from austere bases and employ a variety of munitions makes it a vital weapon system for engaging surface and air targets, escorting helicopters and conducting deep air support.

The show also will feature Hall of Fame enshrinees Sean D. Tucker and Patty Wagstaff as well as the North American AeroShell Aerobatic Team and the Shockwave jet truck.

Ticket prices remain unchanged from 2013. The popular Chairman's Club, Pavilion, Family 4 Pack, and Blue Sky Chalet are now on sale, offering a range of seating amenities. Tickets may be ordered online at daytonairshow.com. Beginning May 19, deep discount general admission tickets will also be on sale at more than 100 Kroger stores in the Dayton-Cincinnati region.

WACO Aerobotics, a student robots team sponsored by the WACO Historical Society and Museum in Troy, took top honors Feb. 15 at the USFirst FTC (First Tech Challenge) state championship in Cincinnati. (Watch the video here.)

The team narrowly beat several others in a series of highly competitve contests in which robots had to scoop up blocks and drop them into a basket. The team is sponsored by WACO, 3D Vision Technologies, Champion Laser, Wright State University and Edison State Community College.

The team is raising funds to attend the Super Regional Tournament in Iowa City, IA, April 3-5. Donations may be made to them through WACO Historical Society, 1865 S. County Rd. 25A, Troy, OH 45373.

Who has had a great impact on the Dayton region? And who would YOU like to see get a paver on the Walk of Fame?

The Wright Dunbar Walk of Fame exists to recognize and celebrate individuals who have had a positive impact locally, nationally or even internationally, and to share our pride with the rest of the world.

Individual granite pavers line the sidewalks throughout the Wright Dunbar Business District with descriptions of inductees and their unique contributions to the Dayton landscape. New inductees are welcomed into the Walk of Fame family at a celebration each fall.

Nominations are open now through April 2. Download the nomination form here, and go here for a list of people already in the walk of fame.
