General Aviation News and Aero-News Network are two online aviation news outlets that picked up our story about how the Wright Company factory buildings began to reappear in 2013 after decades of obscurity as demolition crews tore down surrounding buildings.

Philly.com, the website of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, published a travel article that touched on Aviation Trail and its Parachute Museum at the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, the Wright Cycle Co. shop, Huffman Prairie Flying Field, National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and Woodland Cemetery.

National Museum of USAF adds aviation heritage podcast tours

The latest self-guided audio tour available from the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force spotlight several Ohioans who were aviation pioneers.
The "Ohio's Aviation Heritage" audio tour is narrated by the Wright brothers' great-grandniece Amanda Wright Lane and uses museum exhibits to tell the story of Ohio's role in the development of aviation. Visitors can listen to or download the free podcasts on the museum's website.
Air Force begins registration for 2014 marathon at Wright-Patterson

Registration for the 2014 Air Force Marathon was set to open at midnight Jan. 1 with special New Year's Resolution discounts, according to a marathon news release. Participants who registered on New Years Day saved $10 off the full or half marathon and $5 off the 10K or 5K.
Last year's race sold out in May 2013 and organizers anticipate selling out even faster this year. The number of runners in 2014 will stay the same, capping the participants at 15,000.
The National Aviation Heritage Alliance (NAHA) is a private, not-for-profit corporation designated by Congress as the management entity of the National Aviation Heritage Area. The Heritage Area encompasses an eight-county area in Ohio (Montgomery, Greene, Miami, Clark, Warren, Champaign, Shelby and Auglaize counties.) NAHA's vision is to sustain the legacy of the Wright brothers and make the Dayton region the recognized global center of aviation heritage and premier destination for aviation heritage tourism.
