NAHA takes part in OAA conference
Ohio can use its rich aviation heritage to promote its thriving aerospace industry, NAHA told attendees at the Ohio Aviation Association's annual conference in Columbus.
Tim Gaffney, NAHA's communications director, presented an overview of NAHA and its mission to the gathering of aviation professionals on Wednesday, April 17. He also promoted the Ohio "Leader in Flight" specialty license plate.
"Aviation heritage is not about dwelling on the past," Gaffney said. "It's about leveraging the past to create an all-new future for the National Aviation Heritage Area and Ohio." |

Fox News names National Museum of USAF 1 of world's 5 finest
Fox News has named the National Museum of the United States Air Force one of the world's five finest military museums. The General George Patton Museum at Fort Knox, Kentucky, was the only other U.S. museum named.
No, we're not surprised at this recognition, but it's worth noting. Visit foxnews.com to read the report. |

NAHA urges Ohioans to buy "Leader in Flight" license plates
When the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles made its new "Ohio Pride" license plate design on Monday, April 15, NAHA was ready. We issued a statewide news release urging Ohio motorists to show their aviation pride by ordering the new plates with the "Leader in Flight" specialty plate.
Available for several years on previous license plate designs, the "Leader in Flight" specialty plate features an image of a Wright Flyer, the first successful powered airplane, and a space shuttle, the first airplane to fly into orbit, with the slogan "The Leader in Flight."
Ohio donates $15 of every registration to Wright "B" Flyer, which splits the revenue with NAHA for aviation heritage activities.
Visit leaderinflight.org to learn more and download an application form (pdf file). You can help us promote the plates by downloading a flier (pdf) to print and post on bulletin boards. |

Air Force Museum Theatre showing
'Air Racers', 'Space Junk' in 3D
The Reel Stuff Film Festival is over at the renovated Air Force Museum Theatre, but there's still plenty to see on the giant screen. The Air Force Museum Foundation is showing "Air Racers 3D" and "Space Junk 3D".
The former IMAX theater now features a state-of-the-art digital 3D system with dual Barco 4K projectors, Qube's "Xi" integrated media blocks, MasterImage 3D and a premium 7.1 surround system from QSC Audio. We don't know what all that means, but the Reel Stuff screenings were spectacular. Visit airforcemuseum.com for more information and show times. |
