Partnerships-A Spirit of Generosity
In Philippians 1:3-5, the apostle Paul overflows with expressions of gratitude for the generosity of participation and partnership he experienced from the Philippian church. This is how the Gospel is done!
UIM International is grateful to God for its 57 years of ministry to Native North America, but it has not accomplished its work alone. UIM has developed partnerships with other missionaries, mission agencies, local churches, and organizations with shared interest and conviction for reaching indigenous tribal people that populate North America.
UIM International seeks to be true to Scripture, faithful to the biblical Gospel message, and generous in spirit. This issue of UIM Connection! expresses some of the ways we are making the most of partnership relationships. This is just a sampling. Perhaps it will inspire you to connect with us, as well!
We cannot do the work of the ministry alone. We cannot afford to work in isolation. We want to see many come to be true worshippers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul's passion was to bring about believers in Jesus Christ "who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh" (Philippians 3:3).
Thank you for your connection to UIM International!
Generously in Christ Jesus,
Dan Fredericks, Executive Director UIM International

Looking Toward the Future
One of the joys of missions is relaying the exciting stories of the way the Lord is working on the field not only with supporters but with future mission-
aries. Many of our UIM missionaries have, within the year, represented UIM in colleges. Students may be near completion of their studies and still be uncertain where the Lord may be leading them to live and serve Him. It is a time they can pick up brochures and ask questions one on one.

UIM offers an internship program in a variety of the fields. UIM Executive Director Dan Fredericks and UIM Aviation missionaries David Wolf and Michael Busenitz were recently at Liberty University's Global Focus Week where they encouraged students to take advantage of the various internships.
Just last week, Caleb Patterson, a home school student from Honduras, spent a week with David Wolf in Chihuahua experiencing missionary aviation. He also went on a flight with David to Tepic where he met other UIM missionary pilots and some of the Huichol believers.

Partnerships with UIM
UIM International is honored to join with several other organizations to reach the North American Native indigenous people for Jesus Christ. It is encouraging to know there are fellow ministries that are available to support and help in areas of expertise.
The Association of North American Missions (ANAM) exists to assist member organizations in operating with excellence, thereby maximizing their God-given ministry effectiveness in reaching the lost and making disciples. Their 16 member organizations are from the North American countries of Canada, Mexico and the United States. UIM partners with most of the ministries involved. ANAM is also the accrediting organization of UIM International, through which we are accountable for financial and doctrinal integrity.
UIM Aviation partners with New Tribes Missions, Pioneers, Debbie Melberg (Tepic, Jalisco, Mexico), Calvary Chapel, Southern Baptists, Harvest Media Ministries, Mexican Medical Missions and many local church-based mission projects. The UIM Aviation ministry serves as a critical link to getting the Gospel to many remote tribes scattered through regions of Mexico.
Warren Cheek, UIM's International Representative, has been strategic in bringing other ministries to collaborate with UIM. Over ten years ago he introduced the Mexico Branch of
Christian Camping International to Don Nellis, UIM's Mexico field director; UIM's Mexico board; the tribal church and camp leaders. This came about from Bob Kracht of Rio Grande Bible Institute. The connection has proven to be very fruitful for the development and training of those involved in the UIM camping ministry in Mexico.
After the UIM International office moved to Greeley, Colorado, and while he was General Director of UIM, Warren began teaching in the missions department of Frontier School of the Bible. Warren and his wife, Carol's, relationship with the college continues, and now they are adjunct faculty and staff with FSB and teach mission and Christian education classes.
In May 2010 discussion began about the formation of a Church-Planting Consortium with Biblical Ministries Worldwide,Tentmakers Bible Mission, and UIM. The long-term goal is to see more church-planting teams serving in the Circle of Silence (an area mainly unreached) in Mexico. Leaders from BMW, TBM, and UIM met in the Guadalajara region in November 2010 to meet one another and discuss the Church-Planting Consortium. It was agreed this should be pursued.
Greater U.S. Field and Missionary Development Director Ernie Geeting is developing a partnership with the Mokahum Ministry Center in Bemidji, MN, as an opportunity to minister to Native leadership in training and recruitment. It is a viable area for UIM expansion. Jerry Yonnie, UIM's Southwest field director, is involved with Western Navajo Bible Fellowship, which is composed of a number of
biblically sound indigenous churches scattered on the western side of the vast Navajo Reservation. In Canada, the Native Ministries Leaders will gather near Regina, BC, May 6 - 9 to allow leaders of Native ministries to pray together, encourage one another, and discuss ministry ideas. UIM partners in various ways with other organizations as well. In addition to providing air service for various missions and adjunct faculty for FSB, UIM missionaries teach courses at other Bible schools and represent UIM and recruit missionaries at a variety of Bible schools. Still other UIM missionaries serve on the boards of some of the related organizations.
