Over the River and Through the Woods... |
It's almost time for one of my favorite holidays - Thanksgiving. It's all about food and a cozy home: what could be better? You can follow your route on a map or an atlas, taking the roundabout way to get there or return home. Don't forget about the pumpkin pie at the end of the journey! |

Raven Hits the Road: ROUTE 66
Route 66 was dedicated as a highway back in 1926 when travel was starting to take over the country. Henry Ford mass-produced his cars and suddenly, everyone could get almost any place. The road wasn't perfect, but it changed everything. Businesses, motels, gas stations, diners, and souvenir stands sprouted up along the road to cater to the motorists.
Please join us for an email-highway adventure across part of the country. We're beginning our journey in Chicago, Illinois, where the road originated. I had breakfast a few years ago at Lou Mitchell's, a great restaurant which is very near the beginning of Route 66. I even bought the t-shirt!
Please send any photos taken along Route 66!
