City of Lynwood Recieves Funds to Beautify City Park

The City of Lynwood received the Housing and Community Development: Housing Related Parks Program grant for $516,150 to convert a nearly 20 year old space into a multi- use recreational sports/active area.

Mark Flores, Director City of Lynwood Recreation & Community Services stated, "This funding will allow the City to refurbish an area of the park that was not being used efficiently. The newly designed space will allow the City to offer a great place for residents and other users to play and be active."

This area will include artificial turf to support activities for a T-ball field, soccer field, and walking track. It will also feature viewing areas and shade systems.

This project site is adjacent to a Lynwood Youth Center, Lynwood Middle School, and primarily high-density residential, public right-of-ways areas, and the Interstate 105-Glenn Anderson highway.
