San Bernardino City Unified School District Implements STARS Program
 
Last year, San Bernardino City Unified School District received its initial award of $641.009 out of its total allocation of $3,228,643 from the US Department of Education to begin the implantation of STARS (Success Team for At-Risk Students) over a three year period.

The STARS program, designed to diminish the impacts of children's exposure to violence, will provide various support to approximately 7,200 students.  The program will span over eight schools in the district including four elementary, two middle and two high schools. 
 

GRANT AWARDS:



City of Patterson Received $594,000 for CalTrans/ StanCOG ATP Cycle 2. Congratulations to the City of Patterson for being awarded this grant. 




The City of Waterford was awarded their Department of Boating and Waterways for Non-Motorized Boat Launch for $470,290! Congratulations to the City of Waterford for this grant award.


Azusa Unified School District was awarded their CDE California State Preschool Program (CSPP) Expansion Funds grant for $412,462! Congratulations to Azusa Unified School District for this grant award.




California Consulting is pleased to announce the City of Upland received the FM Global Fire Grant for $1,200. Congratulations to City of Upland for this grant award.


US Department of Justice: FY 2016 Comprehensive School Safety Initiative

Deadline: May 27, 2016

Amount: Category 1 grants = $1 million to $5 million; Category 2 grants = $200,000 to $1 million; Category 3 grants = $200,000 to $700,000; Category 4 grants = up to $5 million

Match: None required

Eligibility:  States, units of local government, federally recognized Indian tribal governments, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, local education agencies (LEAs), public charter schools that are recognized as an LEA, and State education agencies.

Caltrans: Active Transportation Program (ATP) Grant Cycle

Deadline: June 15, 2016

Amount: Minimum funding request is $250,000 (Non-infrastructure projects, Safe Routes to Schools projects, Recreational Trails projects, and Planning projects are exempt from this and may apply for smaller amounts).

Match: None required

Eligibility:  cities, counties, county transportation commissions, regional transportation planning agencies, MPOs, school districts, and transit districts

California Consulting LLC extends a warm welcome to our new Senior Associate- Bay Area, Amiee Alden. 

Amiee Alden has enjoyed a 20-year career in local, state, and federal government.  She served as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, where she was the City's liaison to Congress, the State Legislature, and municipal organizations such as the Association of Bay Area Governments, League of California Cities, and U.S. Conference of Mayors.

California Consulting LLC is pleased to welcome Lisa Garcia as our newest Project Manager.  Lisa  has more than 16 years professional fundraising and grant writing experience, working with a number of nonprofits in Southern California including Girl Scouts San Diego Council, one of the largest councils in the country. While working on their capital campaign, she secured a prestigious $500,000 Kresge Challenge Grant.

California Consulting, LLC is pleased to have Calstart as one of our clients. Today, California Consulting Statewide Grants Manager Tristan Shamp traveled to Lancaster along with Calstart and Fresno County Rural Transit Agency Director Moses Stites to visit an electric bus factory. Adam Rush received his Bachelors of Arts from Claremont McKenna College in Government and Political Philosophy and a Masters Degree in American Politics from Claremont Graduate University. 

Mr. Rush is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), the American Planning Association (APA), and Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP).
