OASIS Error Messages |
Two General Types of Errors
Some errors are fatal and mean that the record was not accepted into the system.
Others are warning messages that may assist you with discovering errors or discrepancies in your data.
Fatal Record Error
- Results in rejection of individual assessment
- Error message and reason for rejection is reported on the Final Validation Report
- Report provides all error messages associated with the assessment Fatal Record or Warning
- Make appropriate corrections to assessment and resubmit
- Correction number remains unchanged
Warning Message
- 'Issue' to 'Informational Alert'
- Record is accepted
- Warning Message and reason warning is reported on the Final Validation Report
- Modify/Inactive assessment as appropriate
- Correction number increases by one

OASIS Grouper |
Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) Grouper (HHRG V3414) (updated 11/25/2013) The Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) Grouper (HHRG V3414) is available for download. The updated HH PPS Grouper is required for OASIS submissions with an assessment completion date on or after January 1, 2014. |
HAVEN 10.7 |
Posted by CMS on 12/20/2013 HAVEN 10.7 incorporates the version of the JAVA-based HIPPS Grouper V3414. HAVEN users who do not update their HAVEN software to HAVEN 10.7 prior to exporting and submitting assessments with a M0090 date on or after January 1, 2014 will receive warning message +320: The submitted HIPPS_VERSION must match the calculated HIPPS_VERSION value. |

Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) Training |
 CMS has developed OASIS-C web-based training modules which provide instruction to assist Home Health Agencies (HHAs) in accurately completing the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS). In addition to providing an overview of the OASIS and conventions for data accuracy, these modules cover specific OASIS-C domains and provide item-specific guidance such as item intent, time points for item completion, response-specific item instructions, and data sources and resources.
