Honoring the Spirit!

Here are some of the verses we looked at last Sunday. I pray that as you reflect on them again, you will be stirred up to walk in greater faith and joy.

Do not Grieve the Holy Spirit:

Ephesians 4:30-31 "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice."

ESV

Do Not Quench the Holy Spirit:

1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 "Do not quench the Spirit.

Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil." ESV

If we want to keep from grieving or quenching the Holy Spirit there are two important choices that we must make as living temples of God; the residency of the Spirit. First - love the Spirit! Second - seek to understand Him!

Out of a love for the Spirit will come a communion where understanding Him is natural and exciting. It will be a continuous walk of revelation and learning. Loving the Spirit will cause our love for sin to be transformed.

When we allow a loving relationship with the Spirit to be nurtured, honoring Him becomes easy. Why, because it's done out of love rather than duty.

It's a joy to love the Spirit of God, so enjoy it!

See you on Sunday!
