John Densmore
Founding member of the musical group The Doors, John Densmore co-wrote and produced numerous gold and platinum albums and toured the United States, Europe, and Japan.  His autobiography, RIDERS ON THE STORM, was on the New York Times bestseller list.  He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.  He has written numerous articles for Rolling Stone, London's The Guardian, the Nation, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Huffington Post and the Utne Reader. His second book, THE DOORS UNHINGED, JIM MORRISON'S LEGACY GOES ON TRIAL, is an underground bestseller.

In film production, he co-produced "Road to Return," narrated by Tim Robbins.  It won several prestigious national awards and was screened for Congress, resulting in the writing of a bill.  He also Executive Produced "Juvies," narrated by Mark Wahlberg, which aired on HBO.  It won numerous awards (2004 IDA for excellence, U.S. International Film Fest - creative excellence).

Although John is proud of his achievements, what gives him a lot of satisfaction these days is giving back to those who inspired him along the way.  He was a major supporter for Amnesty International.  He has been actively involved in the ecology movement for twenty years. African-American musicians were his mentors, so he has set up a scholarship fund at UCLA for minority students.  He has been made an honorary member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota for setting up a propane fund after the "worst winter in recorded history"(1997).  He helped send several Dineh elders from the Hopi Nation to Geneva where they testified to human rights abuses in this country.  He was arrested, along with Bonnie Raitt, protesting the use of old growth forests in logging at Boise Cascade in Chicago.  He believes, when you get somewhere, giving back reminds you not to forget where you came from.

The presentation & musical event includes a biographical talk about the road he has travelled and view of our world, a musical performance with world renowned musician Hani Naser.

He will also have copies of his book and you will have an opportunity to personally meet him.

This is a very special event. I've been asking John to do this for over 3 years and he has now agreed to it. This is a rare event John has played in stadiums with audiences of 120,000 people so here he will be in our tiny venue of just 45 people.

We and our clients at The Sacred Space are most fortunate
to have him here as a speaker and performer.

He speaks & performs totally from the heart
as a blessing to us.

He is authentic, present, loving, humble,
and lives what he talks about.
Absolutely not to be missed.
