SEATTLE -- More than 500 people packed into a waterfront convention center on a foggy Wednesday night to tell Governor Inslee and other lawmakers what they think the state needs to do to reduce green house gas emissions.  

  

Local Fleets Honored at National Green Fleet Conference - King County, University of Washington, Tacoma, and WSDOT all were celebrated among the Top 50 Government Green Fleets in the nation

The City of Sacramento, Calif., was named the No.
1 Government Green Fleet at the Green Fleet Conference in Phoenix on Oct. 2. Keith Leech, fleet manager for the City, accepted the award at the conference.  

Energy Vision  

Energy Vision (a New York-based, national non-profit organization that analyzes and promotes ways to transition to petroleum-free transportation fuels) issued Turning Waste into Vehicle Fuel: Renewable Natural Gas; A Step-by-Step Guide for Communities. The document is a first-of-a-kind roadmap, funded in part by the Department of Energy's Clean Cities program, laying out the many considerations that go into assessing the viability of local waste-to-fuel initiatives.The Guide lays out six steps that cities, communities and other owners and generators of waste can take to assess the potential for producing biomethane in their regions. Leases for Electric Cars Offer Savings

Automakers have sweetened deals in recent months for plug-in electric cars in a bid to boost sales and move the vehicles off dealer lots as the end of the year nears.

General Motors knocked off $5,000, or 13 percent, off the sticker price of the Chevrolet Volt this summer.
