Musical Notes Music Staff
This week's music includes organ voluntaries by Paul Manz on the opening and closing hymns - "Praise to the Lord" and "O for a thousand tongues to sing." It is also the last Sunday of the season for the Disco Penguins and the B#, who will be joining the Parish Choir for two anthems.

The offertory is a contemporary piece, "Bow the knee," and is a favorite of all of the choirs. Graduating senior Abby Warren will be singing the solo on this piece. Our other graduating senior is Emma Seyffert, and we will miss both of these amazing young women very much. Both Abby and Emma have been faithful members and role models for the younger choristers. The other piece is an a cappella Spanish version of Psalm 150, the last of the psalms and the one that talks about praising God with a variety of instruments.

Food for Friends
For, I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. Truly, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.
Matthew 25:35

In 1995, inspired by this Bible passage, Rose Bronk and her husband Walter started St. Paul's Soup Kitchen at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Lowell, providing meals for the working poor, elderly, and families in the community. They began serving dinner one night a week, and now there are 16 different congregations and other groups serving meals five nights a week.

All Saints' Church has been active in this service since 2000, serving on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.  We have 4 very dedicated teams who serve 100+ people three times a year.  Teams meet at ASC at 2:00 pm on their designated day and car pool to Elliot Presbyterian in Lowell, where the kitchen is hosted.   Meals are served at 5:00 pm.

This is a very vital ministry, and has helped us, as volunteers, grow closer to Christ in our service; as we feed our friends, we are also fed spiritually.  We are reminded that the small things we do for those in need matter.  As Esther Davenport (who has been an active and dedicated leader in this service since the beginning) noted, "It is a small thing that I do. Some would say it is only applying a band aid to a larger problem. I would agree, but I would also say, that if that is all I am capable of doing, that is what I will do. The warm smiles and thanks and 'God Bless You's' that we get each time are more than enough reward."

We hope you will prayerfully consider supporting this ministry - specifically in one of three ways:
  1. Because of the rising cost of food, we could very much use some financial support.  Donations of any amount are welcome. You can leave your donation in the offering marked "St. Paul's Soup Kitchen contribution" and/or leave your spare change in the "Penny basket" marked for this purpose in the Narthex.
  2. We welcome people who would like to help prepare and/or serve food; subs are especially welcome if you cannot make a 3x per year commitment.  Email Linda Masiello  (lmasiello12@gmail.com) or Deb Dutton (debdutton@hotmail.com) if you can help.
  3. We are also looking for a person (or persons) who could represent ASC at the monthly St.  Paul's Kitchen board meetings in Lowell. The meetings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. This position could be shared. Contact Linda or Deb if you could help in this regard.
Thank you very much for your support of this important ministry.
Linda & Deb
Father Above, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the many memories of childhood laughter, gentle nurturing, and faith formation at All Saints'.  We give thanks for the generations that have gone before and for the renovations that will restore our lower classrooms and the bathrooms to be clean, safe, and inviting spaces through the Living Stones campaign.  Father, may our efforts in ministry to Your children bring honor to you and fulfill your vision for our parish, through Jesus Christ who called the children to Him and who with the Holy Spirit embraces us with your unconditional love.  Amen.

Living Stones Campaign Project Implementation

An implementation team has been formed to develop specific project plans for the work to be funded by the Living Stones Capital Campaign. This team is led by Matt Hickcox and includes Bob Camacho, Steve Grillo, Frank Ouellette and Tom Richert. They are now in the process of working with other members of the congregation to define the scope of each of the projects, and will be working with the Vestry to prioritize the implementation of the projects according to the advantages of each as guided by the mission of the Church.

The project implementation work is a multi-year effort. Look for updates as plans develop for each of the projects and improvements begin.

Strawberry
Strawberry Shortcake Festival

It's time for our annual Strawberry Shortcake Festival!  Come celebrate the end of the church school program year and welcome the beginning of summer by joining us for coffee hour next Sunday, June 12th.  We want everyone to enjoy some delicious strawberry shortcake to kick off the summer!

To make this event possible, we are asking for donations of the following items:
  • Strawberries,
  • Shortcake, and
  • Whipped Cream/Cool Whip
Please drop off your donations in the kitchen before the 10AM service the morning of June 12th. We cannot wait to see you there!

Summer Schedule

On June 19, we will switch to our summer schedule, which includes an 8:00 a.m. chapel service, and a 9:30 a.m. main church service.  Our summer mystery club will be occurring, with more details coming in the next few weeks.

Musicians Wanted

Summer musicians wanted to sing or play at the 9:30 Sunday services, beginning June 26. Our Parish Choir will sing on June 12, and then takes a much deserved break until after Labor Day. Please contact Maggie Marshall if you are interested in sharing your time and talent.

Christmas Fair
Mark Your Calendars for December 3rd!!

WHAT??... DECEMBER?...YES!...WHY?

Once again, All Saints Church will be holding its Homespun Christmas Holiday Fair.  This year it will be held on Saturday, December 3rd and we need your help NOW to prepare!

"How can we help?" you ask.  As a parishioner, you are being invited to participate by making goods to be sold at our Holiday Fair starting now and throughout the Summer.

"What is needed?" you ask.  Do you do woodworking, sew, knit/crochet, cook/bake, make homemade jams/jellies, crafts/jewelry, homemade cards....the ideas are endless!

Last year was a big success!  Many of the groups within the All Saints Family donated their time, energy and talents and we had a great variety of product to sell.  We are looking to do it once again.

If you have a talent and would like to donate goods to be sold, are interested in being on the planning committee or are willing to help in any way, please contact Melissa Thompson @ mt06082014@gmail.com or 978-221-4204 for more information.  More information will be coming at our first planning meeting mid-summer.

This is one of the major fundraisers for the Church (we took in over $3,000.00 last year) and we'd like to do it again.  With everyone's help I know it will be successful!

Happy Creating - Melissa Thompson
