Sunday Forum

The Forum for this coming Sunday will focus on the Gospel for the day and the parables that Jesus told. - Harry Taplin

Musical Notes Music Staff
Music for this Sunday continues in the Lenten vein, although this Sunday is mid-Lent. This fourth Sunday in Lent has many ancient traditions associated with it, but today can mean, simply, that it is a day of relaxation from normal Lenten rigours; a day of hope with Easter being at last within sight. Wikipedia. Our opening and closing hymns will be less somber, and we traditionally end this service with Now quit your cares - Hymn 145. The opening and closing voluntaries are two Bach pieces based on the chorale O Lamm gottes, unschuldig - O Lamb of God, most innocent. The communion piece is an interpretation of Bach's more well-known chorale, Bist du bei mir - If you are with me, with the melody line in the pedal.

Seasonal Singers Wanted
Easter Singers

Do you like to sing? Have you thought of joining the choir but are unable to make a full-time commitment? Easter is fast approaching, and we would love to swell our ranks. Easter is 3/27, so if you are free on Thursdays 3/10, 3/17 from 7:45-8:45pm, and Saturday, 3/26 from 1-3, we welcome you to join us. Easter services are at 9:00 and 11:00 AM, so the expectation is also that you would be free to sing for both of those services.

A beautiful wall of stones graces our worship.  It speaks of love and commitment, of solidarity and sacrifice.  It promises endurance and encourages us to approach the altar in peace.  It reminds us of the world outside, the traditions of our ancestors, and the potential of future generations.  Bless us, O Lord, as we work towards Your promise for our parish through the Living Stones Capital Campaign.  Help us to acknowledge fear and uncertainty, step forward in faith together, and build on the success of our predecessors.  Be with us Lord, as we pledge to sustain this place, increase your work within us and unite us in Your purpose for this community.  Amen.

Want To Restore Your Faith?

While it seems to me that many have a rock solid faith, mine sometimes gets a little shaky. Yet each year when I come to the West Virginia workcamp, my faith is restored. Using my hands and skills to help fix homes for the people in need there always boosts my faith. And I know that many who go on the trip feel the same way. It doesn't take any special knowledge, just a willingness to help. You will be deeply rewarded for your work at workcamp.

Would you like to join us this year? Wonder what it's all about? Come join us for our first WV Workcamp meeting of 2016 at 7:00pm Sunday March 6th at 9 Worthen Street in Chelmsford(that's the White house next to Central Congregational Church) and we'll tell you all about it.
