Musical Notes Music Staff

Music for this Sunday will be greatly enhanced by the presence of our Wolverhampton guests. The opening and closing voluntaries are by J.S. Bach, and will be played by two of our visitors, Miles Swinden and Taylor Ludlow. We will begin our 10am service with a sung Great Litany, and this year's setting is by Robert Delcamp, the retiring Professor of Music, University Organist/Choirmaster, and Chair of the Music Department of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Former chorister Lara Lofdahl sang under him when she was there, and she returns to sing with us today. We love small world stories! The chorus from St. Peter's Collegiate School will be joining the Parish Choir to sing Mendelssohn's How lovely are the messengers, which is based upon a later part of the Romans reading - verses 15, 18. The Parish Choir's communion anthem is Palestrina's Sicut cervus - Like as the hart. Both youth choirs will combine to sing Pie Jesu by Mary Lynn Lightfoot.
Save the Date
Our British guests will be delighting us with a free, family friendly concert this Saturday, February 13 at 7p.m. The concert band and chorus from St. Peter's Collegiate School in Wolverhampton, England, will be presenting a program designed to please all ages. We hope you will join us, and encourage friends to come as well.
Calling all Altar Guild Members,
Past and Present

Altar Guild Recognition Sunday will be this coming Sunday, February 14. Please save the date and come to the 10:00 service. Rev. Bill will offer a prayer of thanksgiving for our ministry. Hope to see you then.  If you have any questions about this ministry please ask Sally Warren or Liz Landers.

All Saints' Lenten Study Group

Join us this Lenten season in reading and discussing the book, Telling Secrets by Frederick Buechner. We will be meeting on four consecutive Wednesday evenings, February 24-March 16, from 6:30-8:00 pm. Plan to enjoy light refreshments for the first half-hour and we'll begin our group discussion at 7:00 pm.

Lent is a time of self-examination and reflection - on our own lives and the life of Jesus and how He is working in us. Buechner's profound and inspirational memoir will stir us to consider our own un-told stories and to recognize God's grace in all that we experience. From the Telling Secrets Introduction: "I suspect that it is by entering that deep place inside us where our secrets are kept that we come perhaps closer than we do anywhere else to the One who, whether we realize it or not, is of all our secrets the most telling and the most precious we have to tell." - Frederick Buechner

Lenten Pretzel Making

Pretzel This coming Sunday, February 14th, all Church School groups will join together in the Parish Hall to make delicious pretzels for all to enjoy at coffee hour! This is also the weekend that our visitors from Wolverhampton, England will be here, so we are expecting a full house! We would love you to help by making dough for us to use during this event. You are welcome to use any recipe you'd like, but I'm including a link to a simple recipe as a starting place:

If you are able to donate some dough for this event, please email Debbie Collins at allsaintschurch.ta@gmail.com so we know how much to expect. All donations may be dropped off in the kitchen the morning of the Pretzel Making event. Thanks for your help!
