Character Development and Mission Week
| |
We will celebrate Character Development and Mission Week December 8-13. During this week we will highlight our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Our Character Development program strengthens the YMCA's ability to deliver our mission.
Although our Character Development initiative is ongoing, we take opportunities throughout the year to increase awareness for those who may not be familiar with our values and what they mean to us.
We encourage all employees to participate in Character Development Week by following the schedule below. Please take a moment to talk about our core values at the beginning and/or end of your classes and programs this week.
Wear PURPLE on Monday, December 8
Wear RED on Tuesday, December 9
Wear BLUE on Wednesday, December 10
Wear ORANGE on Thursday, December 11
Wear GREEN on Friday, December 12
Thank you for your support and participation.

It's that time of year- time to help make the holidays a little brighter for some of our Y families in need. We have adopted 5 families this year from our childcare and school age departments.
In the childcare office is where you will find the tags of wish list items from each family. Each tag is specifically labeled for you to make shopping easier! There is also a 'sign out' of tags this year so we can make sure every tag/gift is accounted for.
Gifts need by December 12th in the Child Care Office.
When you bring the items back to the Y, please make sure the tag is with the item. Items can be dropped off at the childcare office or the front desk.
Thank you & Happy Shopping!
Kathy, Kimmer & Erin

| | The new YMCA APP is available at the App/Play store/YMCA of the Fox Cities and especially helpful for those needing to quickly access our schedules, which are branch specific. Also, notifications can be sent communicating weather related program and/or facility closings. The app also has the capability of applying access so a member card is no longer needed. Just type in your bar code number.

Make Time For Physical Activity
| |
Tis the busy holiday season filled with so much to do: shopping, wrapping, traveling, parties, food, etc. It's easy to get all wrapped up in the holiday hustle & bustle. It is important to make time each day to be physically active and get the recommended amount of physical activity. Your health depends on it! These tips and recommendations below will help you manage the holiday temptations that are upon us all, and help you to stay active.
Tips for making physical activity apart of your lifestyle
- Schedule it - Make an appointment time for yourself to exercise.
- Make it convenient- choose the best time, days, and location that works for you.
- Get Help- Ask a Wellness Trainer or Personal Trainer for help in getting started with a program that customized for you. Participate in the YMCA- First Steps program.
- Make it Fun-Choose a variety of activities you enjoy! Attend a Group Exercise Class!
- Start slow and progress/increase your activity level slowly. Listen to your body.
- Buddy Up - Exercise with a friend.
- Start today - there is no better time than now to begin. Don't put it off.
