Gracious God, we pray for our newest neighbors, that those families who have sought refuge from the ravages of war and violence may find not only shelter and sustenance, but also a loving and supportive community in which to create a new beginning with dignity. Amen.

New at 2016 Diocesan Convention: Breakout Sessions

Learn more about areas of our shared diocesan work and life by attending one of the following Friday afternoon Breakout Sessions at 2016 Diocesan Convention. Current sessions include: 
  • College for Congregational Development
  • Disaster Preparedness
  • Diocesan Youth Discipleship
  • Doctrine of Discovery
  • Finance & Benefits
  • Redevelopment of St. Matthew's, Sacramento 
Informal gatherings are also scheduled for Friday at lunchtime to discuss: Total Ministry, Episcopal Public Policy Network, Children's Ministry and Welcoming the Stranger Task Force.

Prayers for the Bishop

Please join us in prayer for Bishop Barry Beisner, and his wife the Rev. Dr. Ann Hallisey, Dean of Students at CDSP and priest in our diocese, and Ann's daughter Dr. Kate Rubins, biochemist and astronaut. Kate is scheduled to launch on a mission to the International Space Station this summer, and Bishop Barry and Ann will be traveling to Russia to watch the launch as family. Please join us in prayer for Kate, Ann, Barry and their family. We invite you to include Barry, Ann, Kate, and all involved in the international space station, in the Sunday prayers, and to pray daily together as a community during this time.

Independence Day Office Closure


The Office of the Bishop will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Monday, July 4, 2016. The office will reopen, and staff will return to the office on Tuesday, July 5th.

Godly Play Training and Children's Ministry Conference

August 11-13, 2016
 

Episcopal Church of the Incarnation 
Santa Rosa, CA

The Godly Play Training and Children's Ministry Conference is being hosted by the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa. Scholarships and grants are available to support congregations who want to bolster their Godly Play program, begin a Godly Play program or who want to explore or begin other forms of children's ministry.
