This month we are highlighting what God is doing in Eurasia. I can tell you that I am excited by the vision and progress of this region. We are seeing opportunities surface in some really challenging nations. We are seeing God supernaturally call some amazing leaders who are stepping up to the challenge of launching centers.

God Bless you,

Jerry

Being Salt and Light

Jerry Nance

By Jerry Nance PhD, President, Global Teen Challenge

As I write my report, I am in Sydney, Australia where I am attending the 2015 Hillsong Conference. It is a 5-day conference with more than 25,000 believers coming together to worship God and hear some amazing speakers like Brian Houston, Rick Warren, Jentezen Franklin, John Maxwell, and Joseph Prince. I have sat back and have been refreshed with the body of Christ.

It was a joy to be one of the Master Workshop speakers and those who attended heard about the efforts of Teen Challenge worldwide. The fact that we now have over 1100 centers in 110 countries made a real impression. It is with much pride that I say that I am so glad to be part of this family.

All week I have enjoyed the company of the Teen Challenge Leaders from across Australia. There is a great team of leaders, all making an impact in the region of Australia where their center is located.

We had the joy of visiting the men's home in Sydney and seeing a few kangaroos as we walked the campus. We also toured a facility that will soon be converted to house women with children and women victimized by domestic violence. Mark Hill is doing an outstanding job here in Sydney, and Hillsong church is a major supporter and help to the local center. It is so good to see the community embrace Teen Challenge.

Mark Hill also served as our host for the Hillsong conference and did an outstanding job arranging travel, seating and food. What a great time of fellowship and ministry together.

As John Maxwell shared that we are to be the salt and light, he challenged us to be more salty and to establish some daily disciplines for reaching our community for Christ. John made these suggestions.

  1. Every day, connect and care for the lost, non-Christ followers.
Mt 9:35-38 Jesus set the model for us to follow. He suggested you must find them before you can lead them.

2.Pray every day for an opportunity to share your faith with someone

3.Intentionally drop God-thoughts with people

4.Add value to people -- so you can have an opportunity to share your faith with them

5. Strategically work your lost list

John truly challenged us to go after the business world for Christ. iequip.org has some great resources to help you be salt and light wherever you are.

Let's be the Salt!

Ilya Bantseev to serve as Eurasia Regional Director

by Jerry Nance, GTC

Brice Maddock recently agreed to serve as the Chief Operating officer for Teen Challenge Southeast. This created a big vacancy in the position of GTC Eurasia Regional Director, but it wasn't long before we realized that God had the perfect candidate for that position waiting in the wings.

Ilya & Janet Bantseev
Ilya & Janet Bantseev

Ilya and Janet Bantseev have agreed to serve as the Eurasia Regional Directors and we know they'll do a great job. In fact, you could say they are already doing a good job in the sense that Ilya, Janet and Source of Life have been a great blessing to Teen Challenge ministries in Central Asia, Mongolia and Armenia by providing leadership training and offering their personal encouragement and advice.

Ilya was born and raised by godly parents in Novokuznetsk, a city in the heart of Siberia, Russia. Through a series of amazing answers to prayer, Ilya and his family were able to leave Russia, and moved to Canada. He later returned to Russia to preach the gospel, and eventually started the first official Teen Challenge program in that nation.

Dushanbe, Tajikistan Highlights

Here are some of the pictures of the men's program in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.  There are 6 men in the program, and they are doing plumbing to raise money for their needs.  They also are raising rabbits for food.  Recently, the rent term had ended where they had been living, and they are in desperate need of renting a home for the program.  It will cost $330./month for rent.  Please pray that God would send them this help to continue their program.

God bless,

Ilya

Teen Challenge Mongolia

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

First of all I want to say thank you so much for your prayers and concern for us. We also thank God for our team members who are committed to finish our new building, hopefully by August or September.

We need your prayer support. To complete the building, we need about US $50,000 (This will complete the first and second floors, roof and interior, and the heating and drainage systems). We also need prayer and support for our staff's monthly salaries, about $600. We believe all things are possible with God (Matt. 19:26).

TCM is also starting to run an orphanage, turned over to us by a Korean missionary couple, who, after 20 years in Mongolia, are now called to Laos. They felt led to give the entire orphanage, which houses 36 children, to us. What an incredible opportunity. Support for this has been divided between Koreans (50%) and World Vision International (50%); the Koreans promise to continue their support for two years, but World Vision may not continue theirs past this September. The monthly expenditure is about US $4000. Please pray with us for all these needs.

If you would like to help us financially, please send any gifts to:

Thank you again, and pray for us!
