This month we are also highlighting what God is doing in Eurasia. I can tell you that I am excited by the vision and progress of this region. Brice Maddock has been working hard to bring together a group of leaders who are now envisioning an amazing future for their countries.

We are seeing opportunities surface in some really challenging nations. We are seeing God supernaturally call some amazing leaders who are stepping up to the challenge of launching centers.

God Bless you,

Jerry

Celebrating 20 years in Prague

Jerry Nance
Jerry Nance

By Jerry Nance PhD, President, Global Teen Challenge

I was recently in Prague, Czech Republic celebrating their 20th Anniversary with Petr and Patricia Ministr and the TC team. While walking the property and listening to Petr Ministr and Tom Bremer recount the early days, I couldn't help but think back to my experience with Petr and his team over the years.

20th Prague logo When I first met Petr, the original building in Prague had been renovated and was serving them well, but the ministry had outgrown it. He later introduced the vision for their current home to me at a board meeting in Lithuania and it just made sense. They had found a new location that would give them room to expand their efforts for many years to come. I was happy that Teen Challenge of Florida was able to help and be part of that new purchase as well as sending many teams to assist in the restoration of the property.

As I walked on the grounds of the campus last month, there were many students, graduates, children from the children's ministries, and board members present. It warmed my heart to see the families of graduates join them for the day of celebration. One graduate shared that he came to Teen

20th Prague
Jerry presenting Petr and

Challenge from a mental hospital 19 years ago and God met him there. He shared that he had gone back to school, finished his degree, and became a nurse. He is now married and has beautiful children. What a testimony of the great work of TC Czech Republic and the life changing power of Jesus Christ.

As Tom Bremer and Petr were recounting the earlier days back in 1986 when the country was still under communism, it brought such a sense of God's grace on this great work. They launched underground and made every mistake that each of us make, but across the nation there are now graduates free from addiction that are living overcoming lives.

For over 10 years now, TC Czech has been faithfully going to Moldova and investing in the launch and development of a center there. A leadership team is now in place and the ministry is moving forward. They have also invested in the development of TC Israel. What an example of sharing the blessings God has given them.

While in Europe, I also had the privilege of visiting TC Romania for the first time. Cătălin Baciu and his team have done an amazing job developing the TC Romania program. The campus is beautiful and the program is exceptional. I enjoyed speaking to and with so many of the ministry leaders while I was there and had a great time with Cătălin and his wife, Oltitsa. It is encouraging to see such great works across Europe.

These are exciting times for Teen Challenge around the world. We are now in 105 nations and preparing to launch in many others. I project that within the next 3 to 5 years we will be in 125 to 130 nations of the world. Praise the Lord! Great things He has done.

Please keep the GTC Capacity Campaign in your prayers. In the next few weeks we have critical meetings scheduled that could help us secure funding for our micro-loan program. The goal of the GTC micro-loan program is to assist local Teen Challenge centers achieve the financial sustainability critical to building healthy ministries.

In January, Dr. Abraham Varghese hosted an all India Teen Challenge Training Seminar. It was  encouraging to see young leaders from all over India and Nepal come for four days of training and fellowship. Rick Souza, along with Randy Rowe, challenged the participants to lead with integrity, excellence and discernment.

Lucknow Training School Along with the training seminar, it was encouraging to see the current construction of the new TC Lucknow Training School, which is planned to be opened in the Spring of 2015. The purpose of this school is to raise up future TC leaders throughout Southern Asia.

What a privilege to share about the ministry of Teen Challenge at the 24th Annual Northeast  India General Council. Over four hundred pastors gathered together for business, prayer, worship and powerful preaching. Many in attendance had never heard of Teen Challenge before the presentation, but after, desired to hear more and wanted to know how TC could be started in their local areas. The Northeast India Superintendent, Moses Murry, has recently extended an invitation to develop TC in the region because of the overwhelming need.

It was exciting to see the start of the TC Russian Intensive School this year! The mission of this intensive school is to facilitate the development of current and potential TC staff by providing training opportunities to advance their spiritual and leadership growth process. We appreciate Dave Batty and Ilya Bantseev for kicking off the February module.

Novokuznetsk, Russia Novokuznetsk

Ilya and Janet Bantseev have done an excellent job at involving TC with the outreaches of the local church. This Easter, two city buses were rented and free rides were given to anyone who needed one. As passengers entered the bus, they heard singing, testimonies, and watched a brief evangelistic video. Afterward, a short salvation message was given with an invitation to pray. Over 200 people heard the plan of salvation and over half of them repeated a prayer of repentance and received the gift of eternal life. It was an incredible experience! People were crying on the bus as they prayed and thanked those who had organized the event.

Lalu Varghese and his team are making a big impact as they serve the people of a large slum in  West Delhi. Four years ago Lalu began a community outreach center to meet the needs of the local people through music, sports, computer programs, tutoring and job training.

Today significant inroads have been made due to the missional approach that Lalu and his team have taken. Two churches have been planted in the slum and, what began with two youngsters in the music program, is now one of the quickest growing churches in West Delhi.

Local TC Kyrgyzstan leaders, Sergei Verhovtsev and Alaxander Kim, have been working hard to establish a productive greenhouse and poultry farm and now have the tools and finances to move forward. This is a tremendous accomplishment and will serve as a pilot project for other areas in Eurasia to follow.

In 2002 they started a Teen Challenge outreach to addicted kids at the Howrah Train Station and today reach over 200 children with a message of hope and restoration. Along with their outreach efforts the Shaw's have a powerful ministry to the red-light district and run a home for abandoned children. Their future plans are to build a Teen Challenge Life Center for girls, which is currently under way!

It is exciting to see young Teen Challenge graduates become leaders and make an impact within their own local communities. Sam Sahu and his wife Tina are doing just that, as they reach out to young men in Nepal who need a life transformation. Recently, TC in Nepal has moved to a larger facility, where they will continue to grow and continue to see broken lives restored!
