QUICK TIP

Intuition

Intuition is just using your gut and common sense.

Everyone has gut feelings, but not everyone uses them. We all should.

Unfortunately, common sense may not be as universal as gut feelings, but let's agree that the vast majority of humans have it and we should use it as well.

In fact, if you assume that everything you do and everywhere you go online is definitely not legit, you will be safer.Be very, very skeptical of everything you read or see on the Internet.

Here's a practical application of intuition:

if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Or if something doesn't "smell" quite right, assume that it is probably not good.

When it comes to posting information on social networking websites, this is also a good time to listen to that small voice that's screaming,

"Too Much Information".

Please don't ignore these persistent warnings from your gut. You don't want to regret the idiotic act that you may be about to make.

10 Quick Pinterest Tips For
 Small Business (Pinterest.com)

For some small businesses, Pinterest can be very helpful if the  businesses relies on any sort of visuals or photography.

It's a great place to show off what you're marketing; it simply shows off good-looking images quickly and in a fun, snappy environment.

Some helpful tip when using Pinterest for your business:

1) Let them know who you are.
Being social means being upfront. Post portraits of your business team leaders and your social media people. Whoever is doing the interacting should be a real person. No cardboard cutouts or secret pinners. That kind of plan always backfires. Just post a good portrait and some key quotes from a brief interview and be as honest as you can.

2) Go for compelling imagery.

You don't want a simple catalog-style outlay of everything you're selling. For lots of business models, that retail style won't work anyway.  Like all social media, Pinterest gives you a chance to "sponsor" a page or a series of pins that highlight who and what you are, as well as how you're immediately making money.

3) "Sponsor" imagery of the stuff closest to you

Instead of just selling your products, sell the atmosphere where your products make the most sense. Be personal and share your enthusiasm for the entire atmosphere, not just the sales atmosphere.

4) Branding is about Values!
Pinning about the things that are important to your clients can - and arguably should - include plenty about the values you can define. Don't think politics, think freedom, creativity and expression. All of these things will help to set even completely un-related small businesses apart from the competition.

5) Branding includes the entire environment!
Your clients' needs, wants, and aspirations are important. What is good for them is good for your business even if it's not immediately apparent. Sales funnels have gotten a lot longer and connecting with someone on the outer edge can include just being friendly, understanding or interesting.

6) Video
As you get better with photography, you should also get better with video. Again, not commercials for your products, but stories and even crazy videos will work. All the information relevant to your customer base is fair game here and this is no time to fall back on cheap gimmicks or sales tactics.

7) Pinning happens everywhere.
Make sure at least some of your website is Pin-friendly. Widgets and buttons scattered liberally on your product pages and blog pages can do wonders for sharing your values and making them more share-able. Remember too, Re-Pinning is not about what your clients want, but about what they believe.

8) Data Works
Infographics! Tables! Charts! It's almost crazy how much mileage you can get out of simple number spreads. The same goes for visualizing just about anything.

 Q.  How can I recover a Word 2010 file I lost and forgot to save?
A. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint all have a new feature that saves documents that you forgot to save when you closed them--including documents that you haven't saved with a name more specific than "Document1." This feature builds on Office's long-standing autosave feature, which automatically backs up the current version of your document every ten minutes (or whatever interval you set in the app's options). Earlier versions of Office deleted the last of these automated backups when you closed a document, but Office 2010 preserves the last automated backup and lets you open it. Click File, Recent, Recover Unsaved Documents, and then choose the document from a standard File/Open dialog box.-

The April 2014 deadline

Microsoft has announced that they are ending support of Office 2003 and Windows XP on April 8th, 2014. What does this mean? This, according to Microsoft, exposes Office 2003 users to greater "Security & Compliance Risks".
