Fire Rating Built into the Joint
Extension of fire-rated design across expansion joints can be achieved with EMSEAL's breakthrough fire-rated, traffic durable, high movement and watertight joint seal. With EMSHIELD, EMSEAL has built the fire rating into the joint. The EMSHIELD line now includes wall systems, deck/floor systems, split slab, plaza, and podium systems, as well as tunnel systems. The EMSHIELD family of products is in use in new and retrofit joint applications on facilities worldwide.

EMSHIELD DFR2 and DFR3 are watertight, fire-rated, traffic-durable primary seals for repair, retrofit, and new installations of structural expansion joints in horizontal-plane applications.
Uses: Stadiums, parking decks, arenas, floors, stair/elevator tower perimeters, bridge expansion joints, and tunnels.

DFR3-RWS for tunnel roofs and walls meets RWS (Rijkswaterstaat) tunnel fire standards for time/temperature. Structural joints to accommodate seismic, thermal, concrete shrinkage and other movements are literally a gap through the fireproofing. EMSHIELD DFR3 fills this gap, handles the movement, and restores the RWS fire rating to the tunnel lining.

EMSHIELD WFR2 and WFR3 are watertight, fire-rated, dual-sided primary seals for both new and retrofit structural expansion joints in wall applications.
Uses: Interior and exterior walls, stadiums and arenas, hospitals, military facilities, schools, airports and manufacturing facilties.

SJS-FR1 and SJS-FR2 are designed to provide a watertight, fire-rated, trafficable joint system in 4-inch (100mm) through 10-inch (250mm) joint openings.
Uses: Parking decks, stadium concourses, stadium treads and risers, and other horizontal plane applications in any structure.
EMSHIELD provides a watertight, clean handling, UV stable, non-staining, low-temperature-flexible, high-temperature-stable, watertight, energy-efficient and fire-rated joint seal in a single installation process, without the use of invasive anchoring.
