Portland Tour
The month of May began with Cantamus and Prime Voci taking a tour to Portland. While there they had incredible workshops with Portland State University's choral music faculty and composers Ethan Sperry & Joan Szymko. The two choirs also performed a free concert for the community.
 
The 2015 Fundraising Raffle is off and running. Choristers from Dolcine through Prime Voci are selling $5 tickets to help raise funds in support of SGC programs.

Tickets will be on sale at Town Hall during our annual Spring Concert. Will you be the winner of the $1000 grand prize? Or maybe you'll win $300 or $100!

Once again Zeeks Pizza has donated a $3 off coupon on the back of each raffle tickets. We appreciate Zeeks' continued support.
SGC Faculty in Concert

Prime Voci accompanist, Susanna Valleau will perform a solo organ recital on Sunday, June 14, 3:00 at Greenlake Church of the Seventh Day Adventist in Seattle.

A BIG Thank You !

The Seattle Foundation Raises Over &16 Billion in 24 Hours

Our sincere thanks to the families and friends of SGC who chose to include us in their giving during the Seattle Foundation's one day GiveBIG campaign. SGC raised over $2700 in donations and we look forward to learning what The Seattle Foundation's stretch pool will be able to gift as well.

Cantamus & Prime Voci sing with Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra

Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra has asked Cantamus and Prime Voci to bring their ethereal voices to Gustav Holst's marvelous music, The Planets.This piece is part of SPO's season finale which will also include the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams. Acknowledged as his first true masterpiece, Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis is an homage to the English church music that the composer so deeply loved.

Spring Concert Tickets On Sale Now

Tickets for Seattle Girls' Choir's season finale concert on June 13th at Town Hall are on sale now!  All seats are reserved. 

This is our newest choir, Piccolini's public debut. Come enjoy our youngest singers in their colorful glory as they join SGC's six other choral levels.

Prime Voci hosts Peninsula Girls Chorus
California Choir Tours Seattle

 

We hope you will join us for a summer evening of song when Prime Voci hosts Peninsula Girls Chorus for a concert during their tour from Burlingame, CA. This entertaining concert will take place on Tuesday evening June 30, 2015, 7:30 PM at First United Methodist Church of Seattle near the Seattle Center.

 

During this concert the Peninsula Girls Chorus will sing a set, as will Prime Voci. The two choirs will share the stage for a song to cap this delightful evening of melodies.

Each summer we offer Summer Music Day Camp sessions designed for girls and boys who love singing to build choral skills in a non-auditioned choir, explore sound with various instruments and to find new reasons to love making music while meeting new friends!

 

We will be hosting two sessions in summer 2015:
Session 1 - July 20th - July 24th
Session 2 - July 27th - July 31st

Rehearsal in the morning and afternoons filled with dance, percussion, hand chimes, park outings, and more.  GREAT fun!

Ancora presents, "I will arise ..."

From earthy to ethereal, Ancora (founded eleven years ago by SGC alumnae) celebrates the music of the British Isles in their first presentation under new Artistic Director Aimee Mell


 

Enjoy the music of Holst, Vaughan Williams, Stanford, Daley, Szymko, Whitacre and more. The program presents traditional renditions of "waulking" songs, ballads, reels, and favorites such as Scarborough Fair, as well as more contemporary settings of texts by St. Patrick, W.B. Yeats and James Joyce.
