Skowhegan Savings Receives Regulatory Approval
to Acquire Five Franklin County Branches

 

SKOWHEGAN, Maine - August 14, 2013 - Skowhegan Savings announced today that it has received the required regulatory approval to purchase Camden National Bank's five Franklin County branches located in Farmington, Kingfield, Phillips, Rangeley and Stratton. The transaction is expected to close in early October 2013 when the five Camden National Bank branches open as Skowhegan Savings.

 

Skowhegan Savings President and Chief Executive Officer John Witherspoon said, "We look forward to welcoming our new customers to the Skowhegan Savings family." Witherspoon continued, "Skowhegan Savings has been serving Franklin County from our central Maine locations for many years, and as a Franklin County resident, I'm especially excited to expand our branch franchise and bring our brand of community banking to The County."

 

Skowhegan Savings is dedicated to making this transition as seamless as possible for its new customers. Affected customers should expect to receive notifications from Skowhegan Savings over the next few weeks outlining details of the transition, which is scheduled to take place in early October.
