Reporting IB Results

Dear EAC Community,

In the beginning of July, EAC received the results from our first cohort who attempted the IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma. The vast majority of our senior class took all of their course work in the IB. Seniors had the option of pursuing the IB Diploma which required them to complete their course work in 3 higher levels and 3 standard level subjects. The students also had to complete CAS (Creativity, Action & Service), TOK (Theory of Knowledge) and write an Extended Essay. A specific score is set by the IB that students must attain in order to receive the IB diploma. All our evaluations are externally moderated.
IB Results for the Class of 2015 (32 students):
  • 84 % of the students attempted the IB Diploma and all of its requirements.
  • Our seniors took an average of 5.4 IB examinations (out of 6).
  • 85% of our seniors achieved the IB Diploma.
  • 19 students received their bilingual diplomas. *
Please remember that EAC has an IB For All program that is non-selective. By embracing the philosophy of IB For All we as an EAC community believe that students should be exposed to the rigor of the IB even though they may have struggled in the past. Therefore, we are extremely pleased with our results!

On August 31st, 8:15am, the Principals will have a parent coffee to share the results and explain how EAC is going to use these to further enhance our instruction. Please make sure you join us!

*A bilingual diploma is awarded to candidates who complete and receive a grade 3 or higher in two languages selected from the DP course studies in language and literature. Students who gain a grade 3 or higher in studies in language and literature and a grade 3 or higher in an individuals and societies or science subject, completed in a different language, will also receive the bilingual diploma.
