Of greatest concern to Sustainable Saratoga is the proposal at the former Ellsworth ice cream plant, a critical transitional property for the in-fill development of the west side. Below are some issues we find important. We encourage you to share your reactions and perspectives with the Planning Board.
- The developer's obligation to cede 7'6" along Cherry Street to bring it into compliance with mandated width of the right-of-way. The width of our right-of-ways and streetscapes is critical to Complete Streets, the trees, and the character of our city. Currently the plans show a 5' "easement."
- Respect for the future potential of Cherry St. and the inclusive feel of the neighborhood. Currently 10 of 24 units face onto a private alley or an internal parking lot and do not front on a public street.
- The trees, especially the historic, 37" white oak on Cherry St.
- And more.
