Letter from the Chair

2013 has been an exciting year for the McKinney Young Professionals! I am fortunate to be a part of MYP during this time and watch it grow. The McKinney Young Professionals provides networking opportunities for young professionals to diversify their network and expand their business.

In February, MYP hosted our first event of the year at Cadillac Pizza Pub-it was one of the largest events we have had with over 40 young professionals in attendance! Cadillac Pizza Pub provided excellent food and live music for members to enjoy a casual, but productive networking opportunity. 

Speed Networking was held at the McKinney Chamber of Commerce in March. Speed Networking is held twice annually over lunch, and yes... it's like speed dating.... but networking! It offers fast, effective networking that is fun. Jason's Deli in McKinney generously donated lunch for our young professionals and did a superb job.

Most recently, MYP's After Hours was held at Buffalo Wild Wings in McKinney. BWW created a fun environment with delicious appetizers for our members. We had 35 young professionals, 18 of which were first time attendees. 

MYP has grown quickly over the first quarter of 2013.... But we're not done yet! The McKinney Young Professionals Advisory Committee is dedicated to improving networking opportunities for our members! I am excited to announce that in an effort to provide you with new networking opportunities, Allen McKinney and Plano Young Professionals have teamed up to "AMP Up Your Networking."

3rd Annual "Christmas in July" Toy Drive

McKinney Young Professionals is pleased to announce the 3^rd annual "Christmas in July" Toy Drive benefiting Court Appointed Special Advocates (C.A.S.A.) of Collin County.
 

C.A.S.A. matches EVERY child in the Collin County court system with a special advocate. The "Christmas in July" Toy Drive helps C.A.S.A. volunteers celebrate birthdays, holidays and special accomplishments with the children. The toy drive began as a Young Professionals charitable project; however, it will be bigger and better than ever held in conjunction with the McKinney Chamber Quarterly Luncheon.
