Play it Smart on Super Bowl Sunday

Supervise minors and monitor access to alcohol.
Providing alcohol to minors is ALWAYS a criminal offense.

FACTS

  •  You can be liable if someone you served ends up in a drunk-driving crash.
  •  If an underage person drinks and drives, the parent may be liable.
  •  Parents or other adults who provide alcohol to minors or host a party where alcohol is accessible may be liable and face jail time.

 Play it Smart Tips

1. Avoid excessive drinking. Be prepared to win arguments about the referee calls on Monday rather than trying to remember what happened.

2. Provide plenty of snacks and non-alcohol drinks. Make it fun by creating a "chef's challenge". Guests can judge the best non-alcohol drink or snack.

3. Identify after-party transportation. Create a sober driver sign-up board and "key check". Provide a list of local cab companies.

4. Prevent underage drinking. Ask for a volunteer "referee" to monitor youth access to alcohol.

5. Not drinking? Provide rides and always buckle up. It's your best defense against other drivers.

Red Cross Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Typing
January 31 | Saint Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry
1:00 PM to 7:00 PM

American Red Cross Blood Drive: Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are always welcome, especially first time donors. To make an appointment, you may call 1-800-RED-CROSS or on the web at www.redcrossblood.org

Bone Marrow Typing Drive: We will once again sponsor a Be The Match Registry bone marrow typing drive. For as simple as a little paperwork to complete and a cheek swap, you can be on the way to saving a life of a patient in need of a bone marrow transplant. Come meet donors who can describe the entire process from the time they were tested at an event like this, to when they met their recipient.

Living Donor Program: The Brigham and Women's Hospital Living Donor Program will be on hand to provide information on the program and its benefits. There are many patients who need this life saving donation and need an order to continue life.
