The focus will be on: - building communication, facilitation and advocacy skills,
- sharing what youth care about and are doing to make a difference, and
- planning for participants to get and stay connected with other youth leadership groups in New Hampshire
Hosted by UNH Cooperative Extension in partnership with local youth coalitions and service organizations:
Please consider nominating an individual or several youth to attend. The workshop can accommodate up to 10 groups of 4-8 young people per group. CATS would like to identify one group of 4-8 youth from Derry to attend. One of the goals of the workshop is to develop a solid networking plan so that participating youth can continue to stay connected virtually under the supervision of the UNH staff and others for further sharing and on-going collective learning after the workshop is over.

Red Ribbon Week

- We will monitor our children's behavior and enforce appropriate consequences, so that our rules are respected.
- We will encourage family and friends to follow the same guidelines to
- keep children safe from substance abuse.

Stand Up to Bullying
a one-day program to take a stand against all forms of bullying November 15th | 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM Whittemore Center | UNH | Durham More information: http://www.standuptobullyingnh.org/During the day, students will discuss the issue in a town meeting, hear from inspirational speakers, and caucus to exchange ideas and discuss action plans for their schools. This rally was a call to action for students to take a stand against bullying! Please consider registering your school or a group from your school to attend. The 2012 event was incredibly motivating and inspirational according to attendees. Contact CATS if we can assist with logistics or help coordinate attendance by area youth in any way.

Youth Groups Available to Middle and High School Students

Meeting are just beginning for the new school year. Meetings are held at the CATS officeunless otherwise indicated. High SchoolTo learn more about the CATS high school youth action group and activities planned for this year contact Kaitlyn Clarke, CATS Youth Coordinator, at 425-9171. Discussion at meetings is open and encourages planning of activities that may be of interest to participating high school youth. Youth are welcome to join at any time or for specific activities as their schedules allow. CATS is committed to providing opportunities for youth to share their ideas, concerns and interests with a goal of helping interested youth develop their leadership skills, explore ways to encourage their peers to make healthy choices and to make their communities safer, volunteer in their community, create multimedia messages, or simply meet other youth with similar interests. Meetings are held at the CATS office unless otherwise indicated.
